I think it would be nice to see how many satellites and which satellites everybody is picking up with either a 90cm or 76cm motorized dish.

Please list the name of the satellites you are picking up, along with the dish size. Also mention how good or poor signal quality you are getting from each satellite.

Feel free to share any other informatin as well.

I'm rectricted on east site by buildings
Generally recepion is good. Worst is AMC9 tp 11735H with Q around 40% (AZBox) in clear day and still stable picture, my best is AMC4 tp 12033H with 98%. AZBox is very 'optimistic' reporting 'Q', Viewsat MAX will report about 10-15% less.

76cm dish and a 90cm dish

I'm not going to list them all out but 58W to 148W (even though 148 doesnt exist anymore) was line of site. Can get to 30W but dish hits the mast

All come in great except for Satmex5 (116.8). Satellite footprint sucks here in MN (and actually northern US states)

KU satellites from 30 West to 129 West

90cm Channel Master Dish and STAB HH100 motor on pole mount - all satellite locations come in great except for some flakiness on DVB-S2 signals (particularly the NBC channels on 103 W due to oddball skew)

I have an SG 2100 and 76 cm Ku for only. When new, it covered 85 West to a satellite that was at 157 West with superb signal quality. East of 85 was blocked by a tree. I had to reposition the dish after the wind bent the braces holding a pole onto a chimney mount I had it on. The new configuration is only working from 101 West to 129 West but I hope to improve the arc shortly, after I finish some C-Band experiments underway that I have been thinking about for over a year. I am finally getting some time off over the Holiday and I am taking advantage of it!

Two dish sizes, 76 cm (Winegard DS-2076) and 1.2 M (GEOSAT pro).
DG-280B and DG-380 motors respectively. Invacom QPH-031 LNBF on both.

Signal quality differences between the two are very minimal, 1-3% maximum and not consistent
(hard to judge whether it is my alignment problem or the difference in the dish itself or other factors),
but rain fade concerns are greatly improved with the 1.2 M.

Upper Ku-band signals at this time only, mostly using AZBox Premium.

63W is the weakest signal (65-67% Q) other than the RTN TP (69-72% Q), these two readings with Coolsat 5K.

I can get 72W to 125W with this dish and a DG-380. Could go farther East but have trees to the West. Also I can only get a few channels on 99W because a large sugar maple is blocking that location.

Someday would like a larger oval dish to replace this one.

On my SG-2100s with 3ABN Azure Shine 90CM dishes, 37.5 through 148 (no more 148 as noted above) via USALS.

30-148 using DiSEqC 1.2 (this is how I get Hispasat)...

Haven't tested the SG-9120 yet (but I will, I promise!)...

Longitude 90.1W, Latitude 30N.

I get everything from 63W to 125W on my 30" Fortec with the SG2100 motor. 63W is the weakest....tree issues below 63west. 72W and 101W seem to be the strongest for me. Blind

Hi all, looks like I get less of the arc then the rest of you - 58w to 105w. My BUD is in the way to the east and a tree is blocking the west but even with the limited view the little 80cm dish is solid on everything except AMC1 with the wonky skew. Later, DC

I have not scanned in anything farther west yet.

On my 90cm, I can get everything from about 70W to 129W (I've simply never tried anything beyond 129W so I may be able to get further), except the Sat Mex Satellites which are blocked by a large tree. I can't go any further east because of an enormous live oak in front of the house.

Hindu,

You get some of the sats that I cannot since you have the capability of the lower Ku band with the universal LNBF. I think I want to install one. I want the same model that you have so that we can compare them directly. Where did you purchase it from?

Jamal and Brian, can either one of you supply me with this model?
Invacom TWH-031?

I would really like to check it out, but it doesn't matter who I buy from, I have bought from both of you and I trust you both for the best equipment quality and price and service.

I searched for this critter on your sites first, but neither one of you have one advertised. If you get one, let me know. I'd rather buy it from one of you than anyone else outside of our realm.

I might be able to expand my horizons (literally) with a universal LNBF.

Wow. I think this is the farthest East I've seen anybody mention in eastern/central USA. You must be situated on top of a mountain or a very tall building...??

The Invacom brand is a good brand. We used to sell the TWH031. Currently, we sell the QPH031 model, but it is a standard LNBF, not a universal. To be honest, for the price consumers pay for it, it's not that high quality of a LNBF as it may be advertised. We have had lot's of returns and warranty issues. I'm not trying to steer anyone in a different direction by any mean, but we have so far had very good luck with our LKU1-2A LNBF. We have sold them by the tens of thousands in South America, specially Colombia and Ecuador and they are a great workhorse. They are also very light weight so it keeps your dish from sagging.

Here is a special deal for you..... If you want to give it a try, I'll go ahead and send you one on me, as long as you do a report and let us know how it worked out for you... What do you think? If you want, go ahead and PM me your address and I'll get one out to you.

:)

Robby,

I would be foolish not to take you up on this offer! You are referring to the LKU1-2A? Correct? (I already have a dozen of the QPH-031's.)

If you want to send me one in exchange for a valued report on its operation, I sure can do that. Of course, I tell it straight and give all information without reservation, so if there are any flaws that I find, they must be reported, too. But, I will wade through four feet of snow to get to my dish and install it just to test for everyone's benefit!

If you are OK with that, I will agree to test it and provide an unbiased and detailed report for everyone. I am game if it is Ok with you.

Thank you Robby,

I have a 33" dish on an SG-2100 with a QPH031 LNBf for a
second Ku antenna system. I mostly use the 10' dish with
Chaparral Corotor II C/Ku combo. Here is the list I have
where I can use the Ku dish. I can't get anything east of
63W because the big dish is in the way (note my avatar
picture). To the west I have trees but I do get C-band
out to AMC-8 in the winter. Might do some scanning out
that way later today so I might update the info below.

List:
63W 50-60%Q (MUX)
72W 80-99%Q (NBC mux)
74W 40-60%Q (unknown feed)
79W 40-50%Q (NYN MUX)
81W 60-70%Q (unknown feed)
83W 40-60%Q (RTN)
87W 70-99%Q (Infocast mux)
89W 80-99%Q (ABC MUX)
91W 30-99%Q (Tandburg feed?)
93W 40-80%Q (Azteca)
95W 50-60&Q (CCTV MUX)
97W 60-90+Q (PIT)
99W 40-50%Q (CBS Newspath)
101W 30-80%Q (Hotel MUX)
103W 60-80%Q (AFN/Pentagon)
105W 60-80%Q (MACYS)
107.3 50-80%Q (FTN 4:2:2?)
111.1 50-60%Q (SHoppers Drug)
121W 70-80%Q (Echostar Satellite test card)
123W 50-70%Q (hospital channel)
125W 20-60%Q (PBS MUX various transponders)
127W 40-60%Q (Channel #1)
129W 30-50%Q (12100 H 30000) just added..

I usually write down the signals after I scan them so I have a
record in case something changes. Some of the above I haven't
looked at for the last week or so.

Happy New Year!

-C.
