Why is Dish unable to fix skip commercials feature with recorded shows>

"All I am saying is there are some things beyond the ken of the mortal man that shouldn't be tampered with. We don't know everything, Andy. There's plenty going on right now in the twilight zone that we don't know anything about and I think we got to stay clear."

Exactly what I observe with my H3 for years already. I think it was a software upgrade that caused this, but I wasn't paying close atttention to the version number so I'm not sure. Drives me crazy and I wish Dish hadn't sabotaged my 722 because it was much easier to use. Tiles... Bah!
I eschew SD.

It looks pretty terrible on today's larger screens. I'm always amazed at the more-than-occasional commercial that is in 4:3 SD that is still being aired. It's almost like, "we don't really care, we're grandfathered into our advertising agreement and we're not gonna spend anything to update that commercial from its 1990 roots, because we're all about heritage." Or something. On the other hand, I've recorded Seinfeld off of TBS onto the Hopper and those early 90s episodes hold their own, so to speak. Either they were shot on film or they have done a good job of somehow upconverting them because they look pretty good.

I think the post-Barney seasons are just best skipped completely. Show was never the same after he left and it went in color.

Agree. I read that there was a miscommunication between Andy and Don. Don felt the show was about to end and he made a verbal commitment for some other shows. He didn't want to break his word. You can easily see how much Andy Griffith is struggling without Don. Color and no Barney changed the whole experience. I am astonished that it still lasted 3 more years.

For those that have amazon prime the first season (32 episodes) of The Andy Griffith Show is available commercial free. I wish they'd add more seasons.
