Was anyone else hoping Dish would preview Chiller(since they took away MonstersHD) if only for Halloween.Bad move not offering it during October.
Why NO Chiller preview for Halloween?

Its too bad they dropped a true Halloween channel. Monsters HD. Perhaps one day when one satellite will carry all TV channels we will get our Voom channels back. Till then I challenge Dish and Directv to offer 100% channels a la carte. Pay per channels and or channel sets like HBO, you choose what you want.
I am not sure that Chiller HD has been launched yet. It was announced months ago, but I have not seen anything lately nor have I have heard that the launch went through. If it is available, I don't know why Dish hasn't gotten it up yet, if it is indeed not available then you cannot blame Dish for not having it.
What are you talking about? Chiller is channel 199.
If you mean Chiller HD, it doesn't exist, and probably won't, now that Sci-Fi channel took over Chiller about 2 months ago. They stopped saying "ChillerHD coming by Halloween" in like February.

I think the OP is asking why Dish isn't using Chiller as one of it's "free preview" channels this month. In case you didn't know, Dish picks two channels each month from AT200 or higher packages and opens them up for all subs as a free preview. You can see what channels Dish picked for this month on channel 102.
I think you misread my post,What I was meaning was why didnt Chiller come in October as one of the preview channels.I dont care if its only in SD,it would of been just fine .
A free preview of a horror channel during peak horror season, October, doesn't make business sense to me.
A free preview in Sept to introduce the channel to those that didn't know about it in conjunction with a marketing campaign leading up to Halloween would have made sense but I don't run Dish....
A free preview of a horror channel in October makes all the business sense in the world. (I have an MBA from an Ivy League school)
Give it away for the one month when it's in demand, and tons of lemmings will automatically reflexively upgrade their package.

Biggest error was that Chiller HD was to be up just in time for Halloween. OP was very confusing especially with reference to Monsters HD. Better to be really specific when posting as it does cut down misconceptions. I took it as HD channel replacement.
No, I agree with the other guy. Offer it in Sept. People say "hey, cool channel to have for Halloween" and go to AT250 in October when it goes away. Offer it in October, everyone gets it for when they want it for free, Then come November, they don't miss it and don't upgrade. Why run to upgrade when it is free? Heck, I bet most customers don't realize a channel is only in free preview until it goes away.
Oops, sorry. You are right, I didn't get that out of your original post. Yes, it makes sense to me that they should have had Chiller in "free preview" mode. I finally bit the bullet, and went with the 250 pack to get it. I like it, even if it isn't HD yet.
What really bugs me this month, is over the last week I've watched some horror movies on AMC channel, and they keep popping up the "Get MONSTERSHD" commercial real often. Too bad I can't, as that was the biggest reason I dumped Charter cable, and went to Dish. It really sucks having to watch movies in SD, AND with commericials all the time!
I just really wanted a preview of Chiller for I could decide whether it was worth moving up my package,didnt matter when preview was (Sept or Oct) and it didnt matter if it was SD or HD.From what I understand Chiller is either from universal or Sci Fi network people,and if they are an example of what programming they show must likely Chiller wouldnt be that good anyway..
