Why wouldn't this work for TV-2?

Why couldn't E* have a setup menu item to switch TV-2 between the outputs on the receiver and Sling?

I assume they haven't eliminated the TV-2 connections on the back panel, or the agile modulator for TV-2 over RF, so why not?

With this setup, you could "normally" output over coax to the rest of your house, or switch to "Sling Mode" if you're going to be on the road, or just want to upgrade your TV-2 to HD with a "Sling Extender."

There is a few ways they could have done it... but I think they chose this reason just so they can get the box out the door.

I understand, but that doesn't necessarily preclude them from implementing this (or something like it) in the future, does it - the hardware is capable, as far as we know, right?

Sure, it has a mode button just like an other DishDuo DVR, so its possible... (And TV2 was working fine up to a few weeks ago when they locked it down for Sling.)

All signs point to getting it out the door and reducing call in rates for tv2 being consumed by a Sling connection. All production run 922's still contain tv2 outs.
