I've just bought (mail order) a Western Digital 500GB My Book Essential Edition 2.0 which is apparantly a 5400 RPM drive even though it's listed as a 7200 RPM drive.

Will this work OK with my VIP 622 DVR even for playing 1080p content?

Thanks!

I do not believe that any Video On Demand content is transferable to the external drive. VOD is the only thing in 1080p..

yes any thing you have recorded should xferable to the hard drive once the port is activated. I have not had any calls for problems on this as of yet, except when we had a clash the Seagate drives..
