Simple question, don't want to hear from you single guys who watch porn all the time either. :D You have no idea what it's like to be married.

I know there are threads about cost and Charlie vs. the Amazon Woman (Lifetime). But, I simply want to know if Lifetime will be back?

Fact is, I've got to switch to Direct if they don't come back SOON! Wife has to have it. I've got her to wait till Feb 1, sure would like the new HD from Charlie. Looks like I'll be overpaying for Direct HD if she doesn't get Lifetime back.

I already pitched the "But baby, you'll lose the dual tuner". She asked me this question, "Would you switch if all your sports channels were dropped?"

Honestly? Hell yes I would. Lifetime is ESPN for women.:(

You know, more and more I'm beginning to believe that Lifetime must have had subliminal instructions to women or something. My wife never watched Lifetime and hasn't missed it a bit.

My wife hasn't noticed it yet - and I'm not going to point it out.

Anyway, shill, nobody here knows if/when Lifetime will be back. This is at an Executive level with both Dish and Lifetime and will probably only be revealed after nogotiations are completed and a new contract hammered out.

Shill, I've already had to go back to Charter cable because wife, who normally doesn't give a rip about who supplies the TV to the house, asked me to do something about the Lifetime problem. This site is overrun by single men and people who have wives that don't watch it. Good for them, but I had the same ESPN comparison made to me, so I had to do something. Everybody in here has a channel that they couldn't live without, and my wife's is Lifetime. I would think Charlie is gonna lose more than a few customers because of this.

If it were HGTV, we'd be switching, too. That's my wife's "Lifetime". This channel dropping while negotiating is getting old, though.

My Wife reminds me every day that it is not on.

She contacted Dish and YES we can get out of our contract by paying so much for each month left on it (only 3 months left).

Does that mean the Retailer will loose there money if we leave the contract? I also have the home protection plan.

She said the same thing, "would you switch if they took away your channels"

Dish didn't drop the channel while negotiating. They were obligated to after the contract expired. Dish asked Lifetime for an extension and Lifetime said no.

BTW, this has already been discussed to death in a thread above. Did we really need another?

I think you have your info backwards. Doesn't matter. Yes, the info you discussed is in another thread. ;)

Occam's Razor:

Will Lifetime be back on Dish shortly?

Thanks to the guys who responded though. It looks as if honestly no one knows. I have a suspicion that Charlie already knows if he will be picking it back up or not.

I've gone through all the information I could find, and this is what I found. If you can post links or information that will make me see it differently, I would be glad to read it.

Charlie has already stated that if Lifetime is not back soon it will be replaced with Oxygen.

That right there is what I wanted to know. Crap.

I think E* should open the lines tonight and have Charlie take unscreened calls from women about Lifetime.

To the question, no one really knows. I think there is a good chance that Lifetime & E* can work out a deal. If Lifetime comes back to the negotiating table and offers the two channels that E* takes at a 4%-5% increase, I think E* would accept.

Well chalk me up to another leaving E for D because of the lifetime issue, sorry charlie, but we will only take losing channels so many times for your enjoyment, hope everyone that thinks its great for lifetime to be gone, loses a channel close to you soon, then it will hit home, for me, direct is much easier than having to listen to complaints from the wife, although I gotta say, im gonna get HD and dvr for 10 bucks less a month than I have now with Dish, so its not all bad, lol Wish everyone luck with Dish in the future but enough is enough for me. Adding channels we already have to cover the lost channels doesnt help either. Please dont give me the "charlie" is protecting your wallet argument either, you all know darn well there are lies on both sides of the table and one thing I do believe is dish DID NOT have to pull the channel when they did, it was an executive decision and a very bad one at that.

Dish did have to pull the channel. If you do not have a contract (because it expired), then you can not legally broadcast the channel. I still think this stuff is dumb. In 7 months they could not come up with a solution. I'm just lucky that the women I have sold dish to haven't noticed it yet.

If your wife watches Lifetime, I'd be more concerned with sleeping with one eye open than what Charlie is up to. :)

And that my friends in a nutshell is why many of us will be forced back to cable or make the switch to Direct.
The above is my vote for "post of the year" :hatsoff:

Do you really think we can answer that?
