Will the 722 eventually give up on acquiring a sat signal?

Just bought a new place. Have my 722 here, and the tech is coming later today to install a dish and whatnot. I wanted to monkey with some settings on the 722 before he got here, so I hooked everything up, minus the connection to the sat of course, and fired it up. It turned on fine, and went into the "acquiring satellite signal" screen. Will it just loop through the transponders indefinitely? Or, will it eventually give up, say it can't get a signal, and let me work in the other menus?

Not sure if there is a limit as to how long, but I have seen it go for several days.

No it won't stop. It is a linux PC looking for a command; that command is look for sat.

Go ahead and press the Menu button, you should be able to get to the recordings, if any yet, and test the other controls. You have to do this if the dish is malfunctioning, etc.
