I know that the Louisville, KY locals are available in HD via Eastern Arc, but will they also be available via the Western Arc when this satellite is transmitting? I just upgraded in August to HD & do not want to go through that hassle again. I am afraid that I would have to run new cable from the dish to the receivers inside. I did this myself during the upgrade. Not a lot of fun working in crawl spaces & in the attic.

Louisville HD locals are on 77. I have heard of EA installations and a wing dish being installed.

I plan on hooking 129 back up again when the new sat is functional and see how it goes. If reception is ok I'll swing my 61.5 over to 77.

You would only run a cable from the added dish to your existing dish, not to your receivers. So far all local HDs are on one arc or the other, maybe in the distant future they could be on both but who knows?

Therein lies the problem. I do not want 2 dishes. I have been told that Dish will change my installation to the Eastern Arc setup for no cost, but I am pretty sure that the existing cables would not reach to the new mounting location of the dish. Pretty silly to have SD locals on Western Arc & HD locals on Eastern Arc.

Verify the no cost part or just wait until February when Dish will open Eastern Arc upgrades to existing customers. The installer should take care of the too short cables issue at no additional cost.

129 Spotbeam 15 ???

Strategy to get HD locals in non-HD DMA/DTVPal DVR
