This is kind of late, but I might as well make the requests anyways.

1) Please put up a banner picture on 321/593/594 stating "This is the NBC HD delayed/East Coast live/West Coast live" feed for the Olympics that is scheduled to go active Friday at 9:00 PM". That way, we the viewers get to see which broadcasts are available to us. I am working until midnight. Right now, I don't know which channel I should try to record with my DVR. (Replaytv)

2) If possible for those zip codes that will not have access, put up a message/picture that states "This coverage of the Olympics is blacked out from your area due to FCC/NBC rules." so unlucky people know they missed out. The default "Call to upgrade" message should be giving your CSRs a bunch of headaches due to wasted calls. This one is based on the technical capabilities of the STB.

3) Please provide the PG info for the new channels to: Tribune/Zap2It and your own webmaster. The Voom website says you are providing HD coverage, but not on which channels, and mentions nothing about blackout areas.

4) On *all* future channels additions, please add a descriptive image for the channel the same time you add it to the program guide. The Tyson fight was a good example of what should be done.

5) Most Important: Please bump up the bandwidth for the Olympic channels for the duration of the games as you appear to have done for the Tyson fight. We will all sing your praises if you do.

Thanks

[VOOM] Re: Wilt: Olympic requests

When you get home, you can call 800-GET-VOOM. They have a way to see
who will get what coverage in which zipcodes.

Let the Games begin.

RE: [VOOM] Re: Wilt: Olympic requests

So VOOOM is just going to re-broadcast the 24-hour delayed highlights for
those without a local HD NBC OTA?

Yes, the local feed is the one not everyone will get. Internal NBC
stuff.

If you don't recieve that, then you will recieve CNN, CNBC & another
feed, I can't remember right now.

As I recall CNBC did a live feed in 2000.

This is not a VOOM thing. NBC has the rights to Olympic coverage.

Well, I have dialed the number three times around 3pm EDT. It rang busy all three times. That is the reason I suggested putting the info on the channel itself so everyone could see. If the phones lines are so full that the call center is returning a busy signal, call wait times must be very long.

[VOOM] Re: Wilt: Olympic requests

I am confused and disappointed. I called Voom to find out if I can get the NBC-HD
coverage on 321 since my local NBC affiliate is not HD yet and they are not broadcasting
NBC's HD coverage. Voom told me that I am not eligible. I am confused. I thought the
satellite signal will serve those that don't have OTA. Looks like people either get both OTA
and Voom or nothing. Please explain the logic in this.

Thanks,

-Siva

You're not alone. I'm confused as well. Guess we'll all find out what we get
in about 45 minutes..
