What is the distance that a wireless Joey can be from the access point?

I have been a reading threads for several days now and have tried to search, but had not registered for the forum. I need to update my receivers and am trying to decide which route to go. I really don't record and don't really need the Hopper, but to get away from coax, I would have to go with the Hopper and Joeys. I even spoke with a Dish chat person and she said 12 feet was the maximum, which will not work.
