Tune your shortwave receiver to 8.472 MHz USB and you should hear either RTTY or NAVTEX signals. Using a decoder you can see maritime weather broadcasts sent by shore station WLO in Mobile, AL. They transmit RTTY, then NAVTEX alternately. They also broadcast news for the ships at sea. Just like the old days.
