Channel 540-2 on the Hopper 3 is showing the World Cup in 4K.

But on the Joey, it only has channel 540-1 but no World Cup broadcast on that channel. And the Joey 4K is not showing 540-2 as an option.

Yes, the Joey 4K is not capable of HDR that is why you see the 4K channel but not the HDR channel. The World Cup in not being shown in 4K on Dish, just 4K HDR.

If you search out the 2018 Winter Olympics thread, you can record the matches and then you'll be able to play them back on your 4K Joey, but the picture will be low-contrast since the 4K Joey can't do HDR.

Ha! Dish "fixed" my workaround. No non-HDR FIFA World Cup, I'm afraid.

I just tried watching some of the 2018 Winter Olympics recordings off of my EHD and they played on my 4K Joey, albeit with "flat" video on my 1080p Sony. No warning about "You can't watch this on this TV" though, which is different.
I see the 2017 LG "B" HDTV is $1499 again now that the 2018 LG sets are out at "normal" MSRP. Hmmm...
