YouTube TV Drops Disney’s ABC, ESPN and Other Networks After Two Sides Fail to Reach New Deal

Everyone on here that is mad or shutting off YTTV is Blaming them, IF you were not, you'd see that Disney is the ones that took the channels down.

But thats ok ... you all go ahead and drop the provided without seeing who actually dropped the channels.
i still have no idea why you are directing this at me. Nowhere have I said anything about blaming YTTV nor have I said anything about dropping YTTV due to this issue.

From someone at Disney.

Team,

We promised to keep you updated on our negotiations with Google's YouTube TV following their decision last week to pull our channels from their service, and we are writing today with the latest. We realize this has been a challenging week, with everyone asking the same question as millions of YouTube TV subscribers during the busiest time of the year in sports: When will ESPN and ABC be back on the service? We wish we could give you that answer today, but unfortunately, we are headed into another sports-packed weekend without a deal in place.

We know you've seen a swirl of information about the impasse, so we wanted to share some of the facts:

We began these negotiations by offering YouTube TV a deal that would cost less overall than the terms of our recently expired license. That's real savings that YouTube TV could pass along to its customers. We've offered innovative, bespoke programming packages—tailored to sports fans, entertainment fans, kids and families—that would provide tremendous flexibility for YouTube TV and greater choice and value for its customers. We've offered fair terms that are in-line with the more than 500 other distributors that have renewed their agreements since last summer, including the top distributors, who are far larger than YouTube TV. Despite all this, YouTube TV continues to insist on receiving preferential terms that are below market and has made few concessions. Rather than compete on a level playing field, Google's YouTube TV has approached these negotiations as if it were the only player in the game. It goes without saying that the reason so many consumers value our programming above others is because we invest in the best talent, creators and content in the world, and we cannot allow anyone to undercut our ability to do so.

We know how difficult this situation is for the YouTube TV customers we serve, and for all of you who provide the sports programming, entertainment, news and live events that our fans know and love. Thank you for the incredible work you do each and every day and for staying focused on maintaining such a high bar throughout this difficult situation.

We will continue to work diligently to find common ground with YouTube TV and will keep you informed as we have more news to share.

With Gratitude, Alan, Dana & Jimmy

Let me rewrite this with more accuracy.

💰💵💰💵

"Hey, Everyone!

Google is a trillion-dollar corporation.

Disney is a billion-dollar corporation.

Let's pull the wool over the eyes of all the people at Google's YouTube TV.

We know we can do to Google what we do to all others.

We're the best!

It has always been that way.

It will always be that way.

Have a good one!"

Email from yttv this morning:

Hi Stephen,

We've been working in good faith to negotiate a deal with Disney that pays them fairly for their content and returns their programming to YouTube TV. We know it's been disappointing to lose Disney content, and we want you to know we deeply appreciate your patience. In light of the disruption, we're offering our subscribers a $20 credit.

Over the next few days, you will receive a follow-up email with instructions on how to redeem your $20 credit for YouTube TV. Once redeemed, this will be applied to your next bill.

We remain committed to working with Disney to bring their content back to YouTube TV. As always, family managers have the ability to pause or cancel anytime.

Thanks for your membership,

Here too, about 2 hours ago. Wow, this is exciting. They already gave me the offer for $10 off for the next 6 months, and now they're gonna give me $20. $30 of it pays for a month of ESPN Unlimited that I reluctantly forked over the other day. The next question is if it goes on more than a month, will YTTV cough up another $20? Burning questions.

Knowing Google, they probably will. They are still honoring a promo they launched for Google Play Music, which morphed into YouTube Premium. 12 years later I'm still paying $7.99/mo.

If you signed up in the first 30 days for Google Play Music they promised $7.99 for life, most companies would say Play Music no longer exists so the lifetime offer is over, plus I get YouTube Premium. Insane!

  • "All Access" Subscription Launch Offer: When Google launched its "All Access" on-demand streaming service in May 2013, new subscribers were offered a 30-day free trial. Additionally, users who signed up by a specific date (June 30, 2013) received a discounted monthly rate of $7.99 (down from the standard $9.99/month price) for as long as they maintained the subscription.

Well, they said in the original statement that it's a "1 Time $20 " ...
So, I doubt it.

In the You Tube TV email, it says you will be recving another email in a few days with a link to your $20 credit ...
Awaiting the next email ..
However, I did see from I think it was Toms page that had a link you could use ... I guess no waiting.

I'm wondering if you use the link They send you, it works easier as they know who they are going to vs just clicking on the other link.

Edit:
Looks like the same thing, is already on thier website :

How to get the $20 credit from YouTube TV?

Decided to go with Directv Stream (or whatever in the heck it is called these days) until this sorts itself out.

The sports genre pack gives me all of the sports channels I need for the rest of the season, and the price was pretty good. It doesnt include CBS in my area for some reason, but I have that with Paramount +, so its no big deal.
