No BBC America HD ,had a housefull ready to watch Torchwood IN HD and were stuck with SD only. How Disapointing. Is anyone other Than Dish getting BBC America HD.Hoping it will be here This week, but with Dish you never know.
This may not be Dishnetworks fault but Dish could have at least realeased a Press statement explaining whats going on,but as usual we are only Customers and are left in the Dark.
Scott said BBC America was uplinked but it shows he knows as much as anyone..So Disapointed Dishnetwork..

If you're going off of uplinks, that's your own fault. They aren't under any obligation to switch on anything. Dish has never once publicly mentioned the channel coming on, and uplink doesn't equal airing, so nobody on here made any false promises.

Not sure why you thought it would be on dish network today.

why is the disappointment in dish? i dont recall any dish sanctioned announcement on this channel. scott heard a rumor, and let us in on the info. and besides, no other broadcaster has it either. im sure it will be here though...........soon

How about the fact that DISH NETWORK has been using their "local insert" ads recently to run promos for BBCA HD.

I think that's the point. It was a DISH inserted ad, and it plainly said Torchwood premiering in HD on BBCA-HD on July 20. How much more plain can it be?

Pepper's right. But to be fair, I blame those ads on BBC. First of all, the way they were worded was an outright lie..."BBC America, now in HD"...when the channel hadn't launched to anyone yet.

Second, hardly any channel gets lit up anywhere on launch day. If BBC-A wanted to make a big deal about this show (and those ads were on constantly), they should have launched the HD feed a couple of weeks in advance and let everyone get the bugs out.

Still, I really don't think DISH should have been running those spots without being sure that everyone had it together, no matter who's fault it is.

I havn't been able to find any carriers with BBC America. Those ads stating BBCA going high def were not Dish's ads but BBC's. I have a feeling we will be getting BBC very soon, sadly AFTER the 2 shows I enjoyed are over, How do you solve a problem like Maria and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

From the bbc website

BBC AMERICA HD - BBC America

Now Available - Please Contact Your Provider BBC AMERICA's new HD channel, which is a simulcast of BBC AMERICA's standard definition channel, was made available to all the channel's distribution partners on July 20. We have a number of deals signed and in the pipeline, and are looking forward to letting you know our partners' HD launch plans. We apologize if the launch of the HD channel has caused confusion, but you can continue to watch all BBC AMERICA programming on the standard definition channel until your provider launches HD.
We encourage you to contact your local service provider to request the channel, if you haven't already done so, and to check back here for information regarding distribution partners, launch dates and the channel's placement.

Dennis and I just cross-posted in the two threads, but as I said in the Rumor thread, I strongly suspect BBCA will re-air Torchwood:COE and Doctor Who once the majority of carriers get the HD feed out to subs. They know this didn't go as planned.

Well, BBC/BBC America will be at Comic-Con this weekend, along with Torchwood & Doctor Who panels. I'm sure plenty of people will make their displeasure known.

Those ads stating BBCA going high def were not Dish's ads but BBC's.

But DISH was inserting them.

I'd split the blame 80/20, with BBC getting most of it. That press release states that the channel was made available today. They shouldn't have been producing ads that said "NOW available in HD." It was simply a lie.

Look guys If BBCA-HD were a REAL channel D* would have carried at launch!!:p;)
:D
yeah D* isn't doing that much of anything these days but for sure this has nothing to do with E*. i would think E* subs would be happy with what Dish has done in terms of HD channel additions and from what we hear, will continue to do very soon again. SO STOP THE WHINING! :D
