Good Review i can't wait to get ours hooked up when we do get the hopper because we have an antenna and if it rains we can get locals from other cities also too.

Got mine delivered today. Worked perfectly. Love to be able to watch the networks if the sat goes down for a bit.
Had to hook it to the front USB port as I have my EHD and wireless plugged into the back two ports.

Get a powered USB hub. I have my EHD, Sling adapter, and now OTA all plugged into the back....

We just ordered some yesterday and they are on backorder for us as well. Sounded like we should have them next week though.

Since I want the OTA module to be here with the installation, I guess I will wait until it is in stock. I wonder if the Pinacle USB tuner I have would work. I've had it on a computer for years to work as a DVR. I've seen some people refer to this as a dongle. And a true dongle is a program enabler, not a actual unit that works more than having an id in it.

It says Dongle on the box it comes in.

Dongle refers to a small device used as an adapter OR a security device required to enable software.

Black Screen OTA issues solved.
It was multipath issues where the signal would drop way low for just 2 seconds and then the driver would after a while crash requiring you to reboot the receiver.
For me Multipath is worse during Rain, Snow, or Heavy Fog.
Solution: I a CHannel Master 7777 amp which is the same as a RCA Amp TVPRAMP1R for $29 at the local Menards Hardware store.
I now get 100% on all channels except the two that were giving me multipath issues and causing the issue, they went form an average of 65% to 75%
I have now gong a long time with NO black screen issues.

Did any get sold to retailers for them to resell ?

Surprise, surprise - you can buy them on eBay (only a few seem to be available and they want a premium price too !).
Ah yes, the old Ticketmaster broker mindset...buy up them all up for cheap and sell them at a premium. Every Ebay listing should be reported as a scam.

No one is forcing people to pay for them at "premium" prices. If someone is foolish enough to do so, let 'em...

I take back what I said on the fix.
I left it on a OTA channel that was at 100% for 1 hour, Then Prime Time any time kicked in and recorded for about 30mins.
Now I have black screens for all OTA channels.
Its almost like wen PrimeTime is recording the whole transponder breaking it out into for 4 channels, the CPU load is too much and the OTA was taken out. Just a guess.
Hoping the DIRT Team or Dish Techs are reading this thread so they have test data on how to reproduce.

Still, it doesn't hurt to protect people from themselves. My grandma would approve. But she wouldn't be on Ebay either, so I'm being circular.

Your premise is that maybe people would learn from their mistakes. Not likely. Instead, the rest of us just suffer from driven-up prices.
