Not sure what you mean when you say " I have to count on TV for my business". I may be wrong, but according to your post, it appears that you are utilizing a residential account in a business setting?

I think I read on a post by Modwild that her business is writing (reviews?) about tv, different than someone who has a setup in, say, a bar.

I am definitely going to switch to Directv, I watch CNN as well. I think Charlie is an idiot for doing this. I will give it another month or 2, if nothing happens then I am dumping Dish. They are always in court fighting lawsuit after lawsuit, and thats why our bills are always increasing. Dish is becoming experience, and with cnn not in the package, why should we pay 154.99 per month we should be paying 120 per month.

What are you talking about? What are you going to do when DirecTV drops one of your favorite channels and you're under contract with them? Are you going to call them stupid and leave too? Maybe you can switch to a cable company and hope they never have a channel dispute.

I know that Dish has more disputes than the other providers, I can't argue that. I do know that every provider has disputes every year though and it only takes one of your most watched channels to go bye bye and you're in the same boat again. Switching is fine and you have the right to but just be aware that they are not immune to channels disputes as well.

Not to mention, DTV and AMC have a pissing match going on right now. So, good luck. Besides, they might offer you distant networks. :deadhorse

I'm confused. Are you "definitely going to switch" or are you going to "give it another month or 2"?

I pay alot less than that. Maybe something is wrong with your billing? I think $120 is too much why can't we pay $50. Maybe even free for awhile?

Dish Network talks tough on programming costs
Nov 14 2014, 15:28 ET | By: Clark Schultz, SA News Editor [Contact this editor with comments or a news tip]

Dish Networks (DISH +0.3%) CEO Charlie Ergen says the blackout of CNN and other key Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) networks could be permanent if an acceptable deal isn't worked out.
CNN has been dark on Dish since October 21, while sports-heavy TNT and TBS have been dangled by the company as bargaining chips.
Dish also has a carriage agreement with CBS which is set to expire in late November.
What to watch: While Ergen is known for off-the-cuff boisterous talk, it's also possible that the end game is to secure TWX and CBS programming for Dish's new OTT Internet TV product at cut rates.

Q3 pay-TV scorecard out

Pay-TV operators lost about 149K subscribers in Q3 to represent the industry's worst performance ever for the period, according to data compiled by Leichtman Research Group.

Before Turner, there was AMC, before AMC there was FX/Nat Geo, before FX Nat/Geo there was Viacom .... all this has happened before and will happen again. (I probably missed some disputes in between) Charlie likes to talk big, make the networks sweat because everyday that Turner channels are not on DISH network 14 million potential consumers aren't watching their advertising.

Wow, Suddenlink gained subscribers even though they took down the Viacom channels. The Dish installers have been telling me that they have switched over quite a few Suddenlink customers after the take down. Maybe those numbers do not reflect the majority of those that have switched which would be in the 4th quarter.

For some reason i'm thinking this have something to do with OTT that Dish is trying to start
But Turner doesn't agree to it unless it's their platform apps, I'm mean why do you think he's waiting so long until the
TNT/TBS deal expire? So it does have to do with not paying increase but also OTT as part of the deal.

But would Charlie really remove Turner channels permanently for just OTT disagreement?
Turner is probably covering their bases here saying, If we agree to this what make us so sure that Dish doesn't want to do
business with us down the road, once they start this streaming service.

Well dish wanting OTT rights are what holding up. As for TNT/TBS/CNN apps by Turner....well they are a bunch of cheaters. They advertise that live and on-demand is available for participating providers in USA/AK/PR. I am in PR and every time I try to use the apps on WiFi it tells me "I have a problem. Try again later". But put wifi off (AT&T phone) And no problem over LTE. Can't use mobile data for this. Sent them so many emails.....but they don't even have decency to reply also
