Michigan saw that the Hogs are alot tougher than expected and being one of the big 10 top teams, they did not want to further tarnish the Big 10 standing against the SEC. Poor timing though, they will have to pay Arkansas a 2 million buyout.

Toledo Rockets beat them ... MAC ...
Bowling Green probably would have beat them last year too.

At that same point in the season, I agree, they started 2-4 and just could not get it going. A few games later, Arkansas was playing as good or better than anyone in the country. Once they gelled they finished 6-1, with the only loss being by one to Miss state. With wins against Ole Miss and LSU. I remember when we played them, I said I am glad we got them now, they are improving every week.

I agree, but you could say that about any team ....

Not really. Some stumble, get a win, lose, get a win, ect. All season long. Some start out good and fizzle out. Some do what Arkansas did.

What they did the second part of the season, if you watched them, it was easy to see that they were playing VERY different football than they had been playing.
I am not saying they were a great team all year for sure, but they turned into a very good football team. Of course that in no way translates into what they will do this season.

I agree with what your saying, but you can always say If a team did this or that.
Yes, they got better as the season went on .... most good teams do.

I could throw one like that out ....
Had Ohio State been playing like they did the rest of the season when they lost to Va Tech a few years ago, they would have been underfeated ... no big deal now, they played MUCH better as the season went on, like your suppose to.
Thats why the early games are often time while not necessarily a toss up, but much closer than you would expect a lot of times.

For example, I expect my Buckeyes to do well this year, but you never know, they have 16 new Starters on the field between the O and the D ....
I have no idea what to expect.

Arkansas doesn't do it too often though. Historically, they're a bottom feeder in the SEC (and SWC before that). They were okayd under Petrino and Nutt, but still barely over 500 in the conference under either of them. If it weren't for the Miss schools, they wouldn't even have that.

As it is, Michigan actually does really well against the SEC (they pretty much own Florida),

so curious why they drop the Hogs. I wonder if they found an opportunity with a better school.

702 wins to 480 losses, alot of that is shaded by OOC games, but that puts them pretty solid on the all time chart. In the top 30, ahead of Wisconsin, Oregon, Cal, Mich State, Miami, Florida, ect. Pretty solid resume IMO.

Haha, I wish Bama could do a home and home with Michigan or OSU. I had a blast when Penn State came to town, and wish I could have made a return trip.

How about one with GT? I know we'd get slaughtered (and y'all come to Atlanta every year anyway), but that used to be one of the biggest rivalries in the SEC back in the days of Bryant and Dodd.

That is another one I would like to do for sure.

I saw it earlier today and it looks great. I am surprised they didn't make something for the basketball team first.

They need shiny nice things to talk players into going to UK for football.
With basketball they just win games to do that. ;)
