Anole, good idea about the existing elevation bolt-but when I built mine, I found that wouldn't work accurately in tracking. Later I was TOLD that I couldn't get the extra 22 degrees that way either, that the polar mount itself needs to have the site's declination and elevation only. The extra angle has to be taken out elsewhere, in my case I used that azimuth/mounting plate off the DirecTV KA /KU dish I was given. It luckily had enough tilt in its base, that is where I got most of the extra 22 degrees.
I did try it MY way first, lol of course, but found the ku would only track about the middle half of the arc, no matter how I adjusted the polar mount's elevation or azimuth. Of course, that HH mount would be infinitely easier.
