We have a home in the Ludington area of Michigan which is about 2oo miles northwest of Detroit.
If we were to change the service area to a Detroit address, would it be possible to receive Detroit locals ?? or does the spot beam for the Detroit locals not reach this area. Thank you for any response.

Detroit locals are on 101W TP20 (SD) and 103W TP 15 (HD)...easiest thing to do is check the signal strength on those transponders and see.

If the signal strength for 101W TP20 (SD) and 103W TP 15 (HD) is adequate, then I would assume that if I were to change the service address to a Detroit that I would be able to receive the Detroit locals, correct ??

probably....The worst thing that can happen is a different spotbeam is covering it...the SD one doubt it as the nearest one is Minneapolis. HD is usually smaller footprint but you should be OK. SPotbeams usually cover 200-250 miles

I've gotten them while visiting Muskegon with a regular slimline but haven't been the extra hour north to try it.
