Folks,
After reading this thread, some confusion exists. The Diplexer is the small
box attached to the back of the STB. The Diplexer unify the two
coaxial cables from the Voom dish and the OTA antenna to one STB
connection. The Voom dish is powered by the STB. The Power Inserter is the small coupling with the AC cord attached. The Power Inserter provides AC current to the OTA amplifier through its coaxial cable.
To increase OTA signal strength, run each cable (Voom dish & OTA) to its independent STB connection.
For Diplexer Picture: Go to Voom Help Desk; Voom Faq (Master Contents); Video/Audio Hookup.
You can do without the Diplexer, BUT KEEP the Power Inserter; you'll need it.
