Quick question.

I need some repair work on my phone line today.

How long can I have my phone line disconnected from my receiver before Dish tries to get in touch with me and tells me my receiver isn't connected to a phone line?

Depends on how many receivers you have. If you have only 1, don't worry about it. Otherwise you could probably get away with a few months (if not longer.)

Oh they care. Maybe not as much as they used to, but they still care.

All I have connected to my receiver is broadband. All I have landline service for is dry loop DSL, as I have unlimited everything on my cell. Dish never pestered me about connecting a phone line to my receiver. So as long as you at least have broadband connected to your receiver, you're good.

If you have broadband connected, no need for a phone line as far as Dish is concerned.

To the OP. No phone, No internet. No worry. You concern is of days gone buy...about two years ago or more.

Until the audit team calls, anyway. Not saying it WILL happen, but it certainly CAN.

I wouldn't worry at all. I've never had any customer have an issue with not having their phone connected in the last few years.

Maybe I'm a tad OCD, but I prefer the safety net of having broadband or phone line connected. As I said in my first post, could probably get away for months if not longer. I just wouldn't want to have to deal with the audit team. Have read many horror stories. Just a heads up.

How long has it been since we've had any posts here complaining about Audit Nazis? Seems to have dropped WAY off, and maybe stopped.

FWIW, I keep Internet and phone connected. I must keep a land line, and I like the Caller ID feature. Broadband is in case I decide to dl a program.

At this point it's basically become anecdotal evidence vs anecdotal evidence, so I suppose the OP can take it any which way he wants.
