Dish ad shows addition of CNN and CN HD

for those who still can't see it.

Personally, I would project this does not bode well for SCI FI and USA for next week if they aren't even on this graphic and CN is.

The ad just changed today after CNN HD went live yesterday. CNN and CN HD were not on the ad yesterday. I just thought it was odd they added both without both channels online.

it might be flipped on tomorrow. i've realized that they can flip the switch when they want. doesn't have to be on a WED.

Glad somebody else copied this. I was on the phone about an hour ago with a CSR that kept insisting I "was mistaken" that it was not on the website, but that I should keep checking the website and when it was available it would be on the website. After 15 min of the it will be available soon, in a couple of months, and check the website I finally gave up, copied the ad and sent it to the CEO (for all the good that will do).:D

For those who still can't see the CNN HD and CN HD logos try forcing your browser to reload the page.

The dish web nerds like to use the same image names even when the contents have changed. So most browsers use the copy in their cache which is out of date.

CNN HD works for me

CNN HD works for me. I was getting it at 09:00 this morning. I get it on channel 9436 and interfiled with the SD at 200. The channel is a real HD, not stretch-o-vision. The picture is clearer and sharper for in studio material. For those that like to read the crawl, you get more on the screen at one time.

CNN is also using the ESPN-HD approach with banding the side of the screen with stylized HD in a sideways font when showing standard width content

One of the "Temp" channels has reportedly been changed to show CN. So it is in the system now, just not available to subscribers. The change happened recently (like in the last few days). This is what happened with CNN. The MGM HD "Temp" channel morphed into CNN when no one was looking. :)

Does that mean MGM HD has been put on hold?

People, people, look at yourselves. Look at how you're acting.

Dish's offerings are so pathetic that we're getting excited about a "national HD channel" that doesn't show any HD. :D

Actually, most of the computer generated stuff is pretty much HD ready. It's the traditional cartoons that will be up converted. I'd love to see them run Cars in HD, much like the BlueRay...

Wait a minute..........

Damnit, I'm calling dish and I want a refund. I've never had EPSN in HD :haha

You would think someone would at least proofread these things before they get posted for the world to see.

The funny thing is that Dish even admits (indirectly) that their Voom channels are unknown. Read the paragraph in the posted image in the above post:

"...so you get the best of the channels you know, like EPSN [their spelling] and National Geographic, plus new favorites from VOOM HD Networks [meaning these are not known like the others]"

Interesting how it turns out that the first two channels to be added in over 6 months are the two "types" of channels (cartoons and news) that many people said that E* would have to add to the HD-Only pack for them to be interested in switching to it. Although the HD Only package already had Animania and HDNews, guess people were talking about cartoons and news they were more familiar with.

Calm down, I was joking, at least in part. Besides, you don't really mean to say that " won't give credit to.....[Voom]", do you? I'd like to see a post in which I even implied that.

Still, are you contending that CN-HD (which isn't up, at least yet, BTW) is something we who want national HD should get excited about?

I understand your post and we're all on the same side here but please be a little less rash. :)

Ahhhhhhh............................................Hmmmmmmmm............... (taking a deep breath) and I am calm now :)

Where did you hear this? That would be very surprising with all of the evidence that CN HD is launching probably tomorrow.

From a friend that works at E*. Anyone able to verify it with the audio trick? So if it isn't uplinked now I don't see it being turned on...

Direct at it again....arrrrggghhhhh!!!
