DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

Not believing everything that AMC/Rainbow has stated about the carriage of their channels on Dish. However Dish has done nothing to make it look as though they have actually negotiated in good faith. From the very beginning the tactics that Dish used seems as though their mind was made up to drop them.If this were a trial and I was a juror all the evidence would point to Dish doing this over the lawsuit. This whole dispute is nothing like disputes in the past.

I wish Dish would have put up a page like AT&T did on their website. They at least gave some detail why they are rejecting AMC's retransmission fee increase as too high an increase.

And again Dish has no responsibility to tell we the subscribers every detail as to listing every reason AMC was dropped. Having served on a jury, one finds as a juror there are facts and reasons never brought out in a trial that both sides never want public. So unless there is a data dump as to all negotiations we probably will have all the "facts" to make an assessment of either party's position.

But I do have to admit AMC seems to be the party running around frantically.

I am on amazon trying to figure out the numbers and stuff. I'm tryign to figure out how they download? can you only play them in the amazon player? If I buy an HD episode is it in a format that can be watched anywhere? I have an LG BluRay player that I can put .mp4, mkv, avi and many more formats onto a flash drive and play them through it. That would be ideal if Amazon downloads that way but I can't find out if they do.

I don't think you'll be able to download to put on a flash drive. I believe they are intended to stream over computer or compatible device that streams media from the internet (Internet-ready TV or Blueray / Roku / Ipad / Kindle Fire).

Well i called and was trasnferred to a specialist who wanted to give me a $10 credit for twelve months then wanted to give me heartland, multi sport and all premiums for a month. I said don't bother, multi sport gives me nothing additional in my area and no need for heartland. Movie channels I already have something worked out for those so no point. I was also told that AMC is NOT coming back. Of course the agent has no official authority to make that claim, but with what dish is throwing out I am inclined to believe it. As I think about it,i can say that I am happy with the discount I received. I am not satisfied with dish's handling of the whole amc thing from start to finish but at least they were willing to do something.

Really was wanting to switch from Directv to the new Dish Hopper once they add the over the air tuner so I can get METV

But

With out the Walking Dead on AMC the family will not be happy.

How much does it cost to buy episodes online? That might be an option

This is what either Dish or AMC should be doing. Give the subscribers a list of options as where they can see the AMC shows that the Dish subscribers no longer have access to. For AMC it should be common sense, for Dish it would be nice public relations with its customers. And its minimal cost, just add one web page. Dang I put up informational web pages in less than 15 min. and I am just a private individual.

not for nuthin.. I found alot of the AMC content is available for free on the ROKU british channels..The picture quality is pretty good for "free"

I received the same email. Haven't called yet, however, did send a replay stating that I was more upset over their "so-called replacement channels" as I have AEP and they just made it worthless for me to pay extra for these channels when they have now moved them to lower tiers. I suggested that they add NEW channels rather than just shuffle around current ones. Doubt it will do any good, but, made me feel better.:D
i emailed david shull yesterday and got the amc value canned response lol.

Dish sent me an email this morning, saying to call a number to find where I can access AMC programming. If you are going to the trouble to send an email, why not just say it!

I wonder if any of these posted offers have been received by any subs still under contract? Or, if they are only for those at risk of out-of-contract cancellation?

I am under contract and got the email. I have not called the number yet to find out what the offer is.

I got an email.....That my Monthly payment has been processed :) in all seriousness, I am a newer sub so would not expect any promos and I am not angry about AMC

I got the email and I called. They just told me that I could watch the missing programs on an xbox or ps3 if I had internet access. That the programs would also be available on itunes, amazon.com and on the Apple TV. I told her this is going to cost me extra! She then said that it shouldn't last for too long and AMC will come back. I thought that was interesting!

I am guessing the number was set up as a way to keep a count of how many call to get the offer.

We didn't get the email, course I'm not sure if we're set up to receive those type of emails.I would think that we are though,we get the bill and dish newsletter and cinema ads.

That was her way of trying to hedge on giving you anything. Most of the responses I have seen indicate AMC will be gone either for good or a longtime.

I'm curious if they have any AMC-related offers for in-contract subs? Or, if they will just blow off those that call? I'm tempted to call myself.

From what I have been reading looks like the email is to let people know what other ways they may get AMC shows, like Netflix and such
