I called today to find out if my smart cards had been shipped, they said that they had not and the shipment was postponed. I asked them why and she said, she didn't know.

She sent a reauthorization to the receivers so I don't continue to get the stupid pop up messages every time we change channels. So for now, I will just continue to wait for the damn cards but man this company is in such disarray that it's not funny.

Well finally got a package from Dish... 1 smart card in there... 3 receivers and 1 card...

I called Dish again and they are going to send out more cards... They also have an insert saying you need to send in your old card... Hard to do when all my receivers have built in cards.

Interesting the card they sent works in any receiver. I picked the one I do most my recording on and activated that one. It works, so at least I will get most my recordings in case the other smart cards do not get here in time.

Another 40 minutes on the phone...

The slip of paper that the cards have been coming with on this swap along with the last one stating that you should throw away your cards and saying nothing about sending the old ones back.

I would be extremely pissed if I had to have my receiver replaced and lost my recordings. That is a huge understatement. I'd be asking for a decent sized credit on my bill for that one.

I've never understood why porn was one of the things driving satellite piracy. It's not like you can't pirate any form imaginable, including things you can't get on satellite, on the Internet.

Well got my two cards in the mail today and I must say I'm impressed. Yesterday I saw the 998 channel in the guide, this morning they left a message (in Spanish) that the cards had been shipped and this afternoon I got the cards. The instructions were very nicely done (in Spanish) and had no problems getting the two smart cards installed.

That's the way it should've been done weeks ago.

I have lost my international package since Mar. 25. I've been told several times the cards are on the way (after they first wanted to replace ALL of my ViP receivers).

Today still nothing. I called and they say shipping of all cards has been postponed indefinitely and they won't be sending me cards.

I said, ok, I cancel.

She said, ok, do you want to do that effective today sir?

My bill is over $150 a month autopay on credit card. I guess I am not important.

I called on Tuesday and that's what they told me that the cards shipment had been postponed. I got them today in the mail.

I have called at least 10 times since the warnings appeared several weeks ago.

There is no "rest of the story" except that Dish Network is completely idiotic and incompetent.

The card swap is delayed and I am fubared. I am starting a new thread.

Well now I found out that they billed me $49 for each of my cards!!!! What kind of idiots are they? Now billing for these.

I have not heard of anyone being billed for the cards. Do you have a print of the description of the charge? This is indeed strange.

They removed the charges. They said tech support made a mistake when they shipped them. They shipped them as an RMA for me to return the old cards. Well my receivers have built in cards, no cards to return, so the system charged me for them. But, of course if I did not call and complain it would never have been fixed and autobilled.
