I have several HD Channels (ie STZC, 354) that the HD and SD channel shows available in the guide. But if I try to view the HD channel I get a warning box (734) that "This program is not available for viewing in your area." Why would the HD channel not be viewable, but the SD channel is? Any ideas welcomed.

STRZ HD is on spotbeam on 129 and CONUS. STRZ HD is also spotbeam on 110 and 119, but not CONUS. Could you be looking at 110 and 119 and are out of the spotbeam? STRZ SD is CONUS.

A neighbor and I are having the same problem here in AK. I have a hopper and they have a 722. These are channels that we have been receiving for years (and we pay for as part of our packages). The channels we have with a 743 code are 350, 354, and 356. Channel 388 comes up with a 744 code. The signal level on these channels are in the 60's. Also during the baseball playoffs whenever they came on TNT or TBS an error would come up and say it wasn't a purchased channel and to call Dish to purchase it. Last week on Thursday night football about 25 minutes or so into the game it flipped to the screen that said I wasn't authorized that channel. Called Dish and I did all the steps they asked, but it made no difference. They were going to forward it to engineering and call back on Monday, but of course I have heard nothing from them. Any DIRT team member here? Could we get some help. Obviously it isn't a receiver related issue.

Sane issue in Puerto Rico with MLB hd # 152 and Nba tv # 156, during game times with no local broadcast option. Dish replaced the hopper, send authorization signal many times, I disconnected te receiver, no luck. Sd feed does not have this problem, just the Hd

I'm in Hawaii and have been having similar problems. Live baseball games on TBS were available on SD but showed as a subscription channel on HD. As soon as the game was over the channel became available. This happened on TBS, TNT and ESPN.

Dish has no idea why it is happening. A service call the other day has not fixed anything. The comment was they are moving some channels around and to give it a few more days.

You can re-boot and unplug all you want but it is a software problem.

Agree totally! Now if we could get dish to tell us something. Nice to know it's not just happening with one receiver or just here locally.

DIRT, where are you?

Hi redsalmon, typically Alaska/Hawaii customers will generally have access to HD programming on the 129, on some of the transponders below 16. All the channels you have listed are on transponder 22 and higher. I am look into this further for you now.

350 is Spotbeam Transponder 23 on 110, 354 and 356 are on 129, transponder 14 or 22.(Spotbeam or CONUS) 388 is not a Starz Channel, (Pixl) and is on 110 CONUS Transponder 22.

The point is there is no other way to tune to a different transponder when the channels show up as not subscribed.

On my old 622 all of the 5500 series channels showed in the guide even though most of them were mapped down. If you couldn't view the map down channel you could always tune in the 5500 series channel.

With the Hopper the 5500 series channels don't even show in the guide so there is no way to make sure you are on the spot beam.

Very frustrating

The channels in question are in available at 5561, 5572, & 5574. There is no way to set the guide to show these channels on the Hopper at this time. Are you able to enter the channel number and get it up on the TV? Please let me know, thank you!
