NFL 2007-08 Season

Colts vs Does it really matter.

I would agree to a degree. I think the real games and championships are the Conference ones. The Super Bowl just isnt exciting. I think the real Super Bowl might just be Pats and Colts again. Then the winner goes and trounces a decent NFC team like the Saints.

Cots vs Pat's should be quiet the show down again this year. :hungry:

The cream of the crop

Pats
Colts
San Diego

While Ive popped off once or twice about why you should just mail in the trophy I will actually break it down for you.

The Colts won it all last year, but any of the three teams mentioned above could have been sitting there waving their index finger proclaiming to be number one.

The Patriots were flat out lucky to get by San Diego. If not for Troy Brown forcing a late game fumble the Pats should have been sent packing.

Likewise the Colts were lucky to come back on the Pats in the AFC championship. Up 21-3 the Pats should have held on and they almost did.

In my opinion the Pats made the most of their offseason while the other teams didnt do much and might have even slipped back.

The Colts lost some help in the secondary, a linebacker, and now its reported that Tarik Glenn, Peytons LT is going to retire. While Indy, lost the secondary help they have people groomed to take over so if Im a Colts fan that doesnt worry me. Its the possible departure of Glenn that would make me hold my breath.

On a positive note I think Joseph Addais emergence as the Number 1 back will help the offense run better. He might be special.

The Chargers make me scratch my head. They replaced the whole coaching staff and didnt get any wide out help to open things up for LT. Rivers was an All Pro QB last year, but he will be under a new system and who knows whats going to happen.

Back to the Pats. To be totally unbiased...They are f'n loaded.

They added Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker, on offense to bolster their weak WRs. They added Adaelius Thomas on Defense to add speed to their linebacking corp.

The negatives. They lost Daniel Graham TE who was the teams best run blocker. Kyle Brady will step in and fill the void but Graham was the key to the run game, we will see how it progresses.

ASSante Samuel. The guy is threatening to hold out. If true that means Eugene Wilson may move back to corner opposite Ellis Hobbs and Merriweather the rookie will team with Rodney Harrison at Safety. If Samuel comes back to camp this team will win the Super Bowl barring any injuries. If he doesnt then we will see if the DBs can hold on. This is a team that won SBs with Troy Brown and Earthwin Mooreland at CB so they have been able to hid their deficiencies in the past.

Blah....blah....blah....buying championships like the Yankees....blah...blah...games are played on the field not paper....blah....blah.....blah....until the Colts are beaten in the playoffs...THEY and SOLELY THEY are the team to beat .....blah...blah....

Damn I hate cliches....but they somehow always seem to hold true.....:D;):p

Go Chiefs.

Top 10 pick.

Are you kidding me?? I don't think so. Granted, there may be a certain amount of bias since I'm a HUGE Denver Bronco fan, but let's face facts, they have too many problems. And really, if I were a Chiefs fan, I’d blame Carl Peterson. As much as they love the guy over in KC, he moved this team from playoff contender to full-tilt rebuilding mode in a matter of months. Most of it has to do with offense - in fact, I believe their defense will be improved with some of the moves they’ve made. But on both sides of the ball, they’re an awkward mix of young and old that I just can’t see doing much this year.

First, they lost their Pro Bowl quarterback Trent Green because of his contract. Yeah, Green got hurt by a freak injury in Week 1, but did that really make him that less valuable? So less valuable that the Chiefs took months and months and months to trade him to the Dolphins? One thing is for certain - the team’s offense has been dominant ever since Green came to Kansas City - and it won’t be the same without him.

Next, they hurt their special teams by trading away Dante Hall, who hasn’t made as many big plays of late, but is still considered one of the premiere return specialists in the league. That one won them the Worst Trade award.

Now, the big news is that Larry Johnson is threatening holdout, and the rumor mill has been swirling about possible trades of the league’s leading rusher over the past few weeks. To me it looks like the Chiefs may be without their biggest playmaker for at least some part of the season.

It’s all too much to overcome for the Chiefs, whom I predict will fall from one of the top 10 teams in the league to the bottom 10 - their offseason was that bad.

I think the Colts are only going to get better.
They now have Marlin Jackson in the secendary starting and had a good draft.
I know someone that people should keep an eye on ------- Anthony Gonzolas ....

Peyton is going to love him...

The Pats made alot of impressive moves to shore up an absent receiving corp.
However, I look for mrs Moss to cause trouble in Tom Brady's offense mainly because he will not be the # 1 rec. True he'll be the # 1 but not like he's use too.
If he's not open Brady will find someone who is, he doesn't care who catches the ball as long as it gets the job done.
When mrs Moss doesn't get 10 catches a game he'll cry.

It should be an interesting season all the way around !
