Yes, but complaining every day about the same thing isn't going to change anything. He has gotten many suggestions on what to do if Directv doesn't get the SEC network. What else is there to post about?

True, nothing anyone says here be it complain or offer news will change whats going to or not going to happen. But little harm in discussing it, or even venting about it (even daily) in the one thread on the D* forum meant for the topic.

Folks please keep it on topic. Again this is about the possibility of DIRECTV picking up the SEC Network. Again if you want to talk sports and rivalries please do it in our sports forum.

Well its not. Several branches of this discussion went beyond future games and their importance to the channel launch however.
For that there is the sports forum.
At least that's my take on staff comments in that regard.

I know what Directv is doing. Reading this thread and waiting for people to say they are leaving and only then will they announce agreement with the SEC network.

From everything I have read I have to believe its almost certain direct will have this channel but its been said in this thread that to begin with DirecTV had no intensions on picking up this channel. So maybe all the people leaving or threating to leave helped change directs tune on this channel.
I think DIRECTV is hoping they get the contract done quickly... but they also understand that it needs to be done correctly so that the contract is fair to both sides with no big loopholes. Again all signs from friends at ESPN (which is just down the street from my house a few miles) say that they have come to an agreement and now need to finalize the contract.I know what Directv is doing. BTW I had to remove (again) more off topic rants as some people think they are exempt for the rules of the site. One even threatening to leave because he wasn't getting his way (sigh). The rules here are quite simple and we don't mind you doing it in the sports forum, but this thread has nothing to do which team or conference is better... its about talking about DIRECTV getting the SEC network. For those of us still using SD equipment (much easier set RV set up), does anyone believe that I will be able to pick this channel up in SD on my 18" round dish pointing at satellite 101 or will it likely be an HD only channel which will require an upgrade?? I am unfamiliar with how new channels are established.
Drmike.. hard to say until they uplink it. We have no idea where it will go until then. Will it be an HD only channel? I doubt it... but it also wouldn't surprise me.
