Thinking about cancelling dish?

If you are unhappy with dish network and want to cancel here is a secret that dish doesn't want you know. If you upgrade your package the highest package and add other channels (like latino, multi sports, superstations, premiums, international, and adult programming. just no pay-per-views) and cancel your account on the same day, you will not be charged for those channels or the $5.00 downgrade fee.

Here is an example. If you call in to upgrade your package any time after 1:00 am on June 28th and then cancel it before 11:00 pm on the same calender day. You won't be charged any additional cost as long as you cancel before June 29th.

However this does not apply to any prepaid accounts (they make you pay for the changes up front). Also be sure to check and see if you are under a contract first.

also the early termination fee is only enforceable if they have record of you signing it. when canceling, advise that you do not believe you signed it (even if you know you did) and request that you be faxed a copy. you will be sent to ERT (executive resolution team) where they will dig up the request and forward you a copy, if they can find it. key word, if. there are so many chances for signed paper to never make it into being scanned into the system it is ridiculous.
