U502 has blown up OTA...again.

I hope this is correct. I never had any ota problems until I was forced to "upgrade" the cui.

It's happened a few times in the past. Dish is bad about not learning from their previous mistakes.

Now, last night, both of my OTA recordings actually worked flawlessly. First time in weeks... go figure. No software change.

I think he is talking about the OTA breakup problem, not that they're BAD bad.

The OTA break up problem and the problem where OTA channels are dropped and need to be re-scanned daily only effects certain receivers and are not system wide problems. If he gets a replacement receiver the problem will probably go away and we all know the easiest way to get a replacement receiver is to say your's doesn't come on.

I had a Hopper 3 that dropped the OTA channels every day. The replacement doen't drop the channels and works correctly. None of the Hopper 3's here have the OTA break up problem.

That is not totally true. The Hopper does not have OTA breakup "while watching" but they record the breakups, just as when you watch on Joeys.
