Wrong local stations on my reciver.

Some one please help me. I got voom hooked up on Sat.( installer was awful.)When he left he said my local channels would come in later, I'm still waiting. My prob. is my rec. is showing local channals for Medford Oragan not B'ham Al. voom does not seem to understand. By the way I am not picking up the stations just the call letters. My clock is also showing Pacific time. Can anyone help me.

Voom should withhold his pay for that installation and he should be
fired.

I am not installed yet, but my understanding is the newly installed receivers have v6.0 firmware (or beta of) that allows for local OTA (Over The Air) scanning. There is a thread describing the procedure here:

You won't be able to scan if you are not receiving a OTA signal.

Receivers with older firmware rely on a fixed local market OTA map based on your location. It appears that your receiver (STB) isn't aware of your exact location. I don't know if this is a user set preference based on your ZIP code or should have been programmed during activation.

Abbie, I suspect the wrong zipcode may have been entered somewhere.

Let's get this straight you live in AL and are mapped for Medford, OR?

If this is the case you are blatantly mismapped and the call center
may be able to get you remapped. Call 1-800-GET-VOOM, and tell them.

I live in Alabama, and my locals are showing for Oregon. Please
escalate this to be remapped.
