Fisrt of all let me say hello to all !!! It's looks like a great hobby to be into..

I'm Stuck , please help.......

I did tons or reading and though I had it in contorl , until I start in the install.

I have a viewsat 2000 extreme, stab HH90, with a fortec 90 cm with a invacom quad 4 lnb . I'm in Eugene OR 97402.

Ok so my first question of many is, I'm reading the rotor install guide had to type of setup USALS and Diseqc 1.2 mode. Which Should I use..??

SO that leads me to my next question , which way do I point the rotor and what elevation do I need to set it at.

I used the sat finder to get these setting.

Eugene, OR 97402
Latitude 44° 3.672'N Longitude 123° 9.330'W

But after reading the install book I'm more confused. here is what I did I set the rotor evevation to 44 latitude, is this right? not sure what to do with LAT?

Which SAT in closest to me , where do I set latitude on rotor and satallite and which way do I point it. USe USALS or Disequ 1.2 setup??????

heres what I have

I selected Galaxy 10R 123.0W as the my base satallite , I hooked my viewsat extreme 2000 to the stab hh90 rotor which is connected to the "L" outout on the invacom LNB .

Inside I have this picture on my setup screen , please let me know if this is correct for setup.

Satallite= Galaxy 10R 123.0W
Lnb Power= ON
LNB TYPE=Universal
LNB High= 11250
LNB Low = 10720
TP FREQ= 11720
Search Option= ALL
Deiseqc 1.0 = None (I don;t have one connected)
Motor= OFF (but I do Have the stab HH90)

I'm trying to zero in on this satallite , I thinbk this is what I should be doing????

so for the best signal I have is 72 "S" and "Q" 20"
 
The Invacom QPH-031 is a STANDARD LNBF on the linear side so the L.O. should be........

Nearly there :)

(I think you should remove the motor and find and store your true south satellite. THEN add the motor)
 
Removed the motor, signal is now 76%, quality 20%... on Galaxy 10R 123.0W. This seems to be the strongest signal I can find. LNB Type Universal. If I switch to Standard I get no signal. Any further suggestions. Thanks.
 
the LO should be 10750 (Standard) and use the following transponder..its much stronger
11800 freq
V pol
26660 symbol rate

There might be one that is close (11799 V 26657) which will work too :)
 
followed your advice and pick up some stations. When I hook my motor back up, I loose my S & Q strength. Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
Still having problems once I install the motor. Set the longitude & Latitude settings. Have the following settings
Satellite Galaxy 10R 123.0 w
LNB Power - On
LNB Type - Standard
LNB Freq. - 10750
Hz - On
TP Freq - 11800
DiSeqC 1.0 - None
Motor - Usals

Dish is mounted at 38
Motor is mounted at 44
Azimuth is 163

Still no signal. What am I missing?
 
Ok, I got a signal now with the rotor HH90 STAB on what seems to be Galaxy 10R. Now do I set the receiver to tell the satellite that this is home base? What I did have as home base is MY LOCATION longatitude and Latitude? But it seems like I should put the Galaxy 10R setting as the home base since I have a 73 "S" and a 90 "Q". When I switch to another satellite I don't have a good enough signal.

So am I too enter the Galaxy 10R long and Lat at my home base in the receiver?

No. You enter your home's Latitude and Longitude so your receiver knows where in the world it is located so it can compute the location ( look angle) of the satellites from Eugene.
Get a signal (station) from G10r, turn on USALS, Move to Satellite and Save. If you loose the Quality, you will need to go to the dish, loosen the motor on the pole, and move the motor slightly East or West to Peak the Quality, then tighten the motor mounting.
Easier if you take receiver and small TV outside.
 
I got it

Here is what I finally relized is that my true south heading on a compus 163 deg is the exact same position as Galaxy 10 r. I guess this is why I was getting confussed. So tonight I will have too go on top of the roof and zero out my setting , since I think there wrong and start all over again.

Ok , Finally got it all working. The usal works and I'm picking stuff up. So if any one needs some help with this setup , I might be able to help.....
