I've been a long time Directv Customer. The only thing that really ticks me off is how they've structured this NFL Sunday Ticket HD thing.

You pay for the NFL Sunday Ticket ( 5 payments of 45.80 ) . You pay a monthly HD access fee for 9.99 . However, in order to receive the NFL games in HD format you have to subscribe to an additional feature , called " Superfan " . Thats B.S. How many times do they want to reach in our pockets ?

Its called double billing. Its not our fault they created this superfan stuff and in order to launch it out they have to include your HD broadcasts along with them. Nice selling point. Its the same for MLB. Stupid.

Sorry, you've already billed me for the NFL Sunday Ticket. And I currently am paying an HD access fee for montly HD channels. Now you want to hit me again ?

Somebody over there needs to get there act together. Bad business.

The $9.99 HD fee has NOTHING to do with ST. This is already being discussed at length in another thread as well.

ST ? who is talking ST ? The 9.99 fee is " HD access " .

You were talking about NFL St (Sunday Ticket)

the $9.99 HD fee is for non-NFL HD access; the two are separate items.

How are they two seperate items ? How many times do you want to bill us for HD feeds ? If you pay for the ST, and pay a monthly HD access fee, why wouldn't you get the NFL games in HD ?

You can't just charge a broad fee ( HD access ) and then try and package up other HD feeds into another package . Double billing.

Say you have no HD fee of $9.99 but you pay for the ST with SF should you still get all the other non-premium or non-NFL HD too? NO because you are not paying for them. YET.
I am sure when the majority of channels are HD you will see a vastly different pricing scheme, but not now and you are not being double billed.

I am getting double billed if there calling there HD monthly fee , " HD Access " . It should be structured differently and completely revamped.

I'm from the point of view that if your paying 230.00 for a package, you better get every channel in that package. The HD games should be included already for that price. Its not like there different games being played.

Say you can get your local channels OTA and as of right now you choose not to get the HD package (9.99). Can you still order ST & superfan to get the NFL games in HD? Or are you "required" to have the HD package as well?

The reason I ask, is that prior to locals being offered in my area (SD only for now). I had obtained waiver for Fox and CBS. For awhile I also got the HD feeds as well. One day, the HD feeds were gone. I called CS and was told that in order to view the HD feeds, I had to have the HD package.

Thats a good question. Never tried it out. Not sure if its a requirement or not. The NFL HD feeds are on seperate channels so I assume you could still get the channels without subscribing to the HD package. Just my guess however.

Pretty much kills your argument. They are indeed two seperate things in this case. Besides that, this discussion has been going on for two years. So here is the dope on this. It just aint that way!

What sunk his own argument is he finally called it what it is, the HD Package.

You are paying for a package of HD channels, not for full access to anything non-SD they offer.

This is deja-vu from the thread in the main D* forum.

Guys you dont need SuperFan to get HD games!

when i signed up the CSR told i no longer needed SuperFan to get HD games!

and to prove it here i have a screen shot of my programming from my online account info!

Did you consider that the SF was on FREE this past weekend ?

Let us know after next w/e.

Jimbo

Wow I forgot about that; guess I should have mentioned that to my NFL challenged friends. Was it just last wknd?

Yup, Normally they open up the first w/e free, they did the same thing last year... I saw it posted somewhere but didn't think much of it seeing I have it and none of my other friend have the ST in order to take advantage of it.

How does it kill the argument ? I've payed for NFL Sunday Ticket. I pay a " HD Access " monthly fee.

Now you want me to pay again for the NFL in HD ?

lol.

Tell me that isn't bad business ?

Argument still alive.

Hey Steve, my bill says "HD Access" ... What does yours say ?

True for new customers this year. However next year you will indeed need SF for HD.

Flying J, is this true ?

They need to restructure there packaging just like Flying J needs to get a new baseball team. Get there act together. I think they may with the additional channels there going to be adding. We'll have to wait and see how they do it.

Sticking HD feeds into packages (Superfan, MLB fan ) here and there for a selling point isn't going to get the job done. Bad business. Especially if your charging ANOTHER fee on top of it for " monthly HD Access " . I've been with them too long to pull that B.S.
