That will probably be welcome news since TBS HD is not worth anything or even the name HD. Worthless channel in my book.

Not getting my hopes up but would like to see the NHL Channel HD be made available tomorrow. Past experience leads me to think nothing else will be added.

You sometimes get what you ask for. Everyone on here kept getting on E* for now carring TBS HD. Well the championship games are about over and that means we're stuck with TBS HD. This stuff is done with contracts.. I highly doubt Dish could just drop TBS HD.

Are we a little emotional about HD programming? I'm not sure what HD channel currently available would offer any "Real" HD content. I would like to see Dish dump TBS-HD(now that baseball is over) reduce the HD-PPV channels by half, and use the additional bandwidth to up the HD resolution to full 1920 X 1080i. And then, and only then, add the best available HD channel(s).
Whatever. As long as it's added back around 10/1/08 in time for next year's playoffs-- who cares.

I am sure whoever issured the press release ahead of time has since lost their position or has been demoted to the mailroom or fetching coffee and donuts.
As a follow-up, on my local HDTV forum in the Twin Cities it is being reported that a Comcast subscriber in Cottage Grove says that the NHL Network HD channel is LIVE as of this morning.

beginning this month, through carriage agreements with Cablevision,
Comcast, Cox Communications, DIRECTV, DISH Network and Time Warner Cable.
Based on the carriage arrangements, NHL Network will be accessible to 75
million homes.
NHL Network, which launched in Canada in 2001, gives viewers
unprecedented 24-hour access to the most comprehensive hockey coverage,
both on and off the ice. NHL Network will broadcast 50 live regular-season
games in addition to classic games, documentaries, instructional shows,
highlights and more.
The U.S. and Canada versions of NHL Network will have similar
programming schedules. Initially, the major difference in the two channels
will be in live NHL game selections, with each channel focusing on games of
greater interest to its fans. All live NHL games will be televised in
high-definition on the full-time HD feed (all games subject to local
blackout).
The signature show on NHL Network, NHL On The Fly, airs nightly
throughout the hockey season and features up-to-the minute hockey
information, live look-ins on games in progress, extended highlights,
overtime shootouts, real-time scores, interviews, pre- and post-game
reports and news conferences. Dan Pollard and Brian Duff rotate as hosts
and are joined in-studio for expert analysis from a variety of NHL

No its just that I was away in Reno for the last week, most of the time with no internet access.
I got back in the office yesterday but came back with our servers being screwed up at the office and I spent much of the day trying to get everything on our company servers running again.
This is the first time since being back at work having the time to sit down and even look at SatelliteGuys. Now I have about 60 private messages to look at / answer from over the past week.
Then after that I can plpay phone and email tag with my contacts digging for some dirt.
I must say I was surprised there was no activity last week. Even the changes that Dish Advertised as happening (TBS HD move) did not happen. Not sure whats up with that, but I am going to try to find out.
