Other than national channels like ESPNU, will the sports pack give me more than I have right now in the Regional Network department?

Thanks.

I would really only sub during college footbal and nfl and was wondering if the rsn's outside me would be blacked or would I have access to them?

No pro games at all except in your local market. I live outside my team's market and I sub just to get all of the talk shows and coaches shows from that city.

K. Thanks guys. I went ahead and subbed. Will see if I like it for the rest of the season. Sometimes teams I want to see are on ESPNU. I wish you had an option just to add ESPNU.

Here is an example of a lineup that I had a few weeks ago. All of these games were on at 11:30am CST:

Texas/Iowa State (channel 620, 624, 630, 634, 636, 640 (High Def), 641, 643, 645, 647 , 649, 651, 652, 654, and 96 (High Def))
Georgia Tech/Miami (ESPN HD)
Illinois/Iowa (ESPN2 HD)
Minnesota/Northwestern (Big 10 Alt, ch 218)
Kent State/Ohio St (Big 10 Alt, ch 219)
Purdue/Michigan (Big 10 HD)
Central Florida/South Florida (ESPN U)
Rutgers/Syracuse (MSG, MASN, ALT)
Princeton/Brown (NESN HD)
Eastern Michigan/Ohio (SNY HD)
Lehigh/Yale (FSPI)

So yea, you'll be able to see more than you normally would if you have the sports pack.

Yeah, theres two games today I would not have. For $12/mo during football season, 1-2 games per week extra is well worth the price.

I sub to it for college hockey / basketball. Several things on CSTV & ESPNU. Also use FSN North and the CSN Chicago at times.

There are a few situations where sports pack will give people more local teams than they get otherwise. Example - in parts of IN & OH you can get the Tigers, Reds, Cubs, W/S, Indians, etc. The regular package will give you 1 or 2 of the closest ones. The sports pack will give you everything you are entitled to for your area.

They have an RSN lookup tool that shows the extra tems you will get with sports pack, if any.

Here in Michigan we do not get any extras.

Im not originally from South Carolina so I like any option I have to get extra games. Ive tried game plan but its almost not worth the $99. This seems like a better option. Think Ill stick with it during college football season from now on, or at least until they come up with something better.

The HD RSN's are cool too, way better than game plan there.

This is probably your best bet, as it varies from region to region - also, teams &/or RSN's could change.

For example, in our area, we used to have to sub to SP to get Fox Sports Midwest, which also netted us Cards/Blues games. D* (& E*) did NOT give us FSM as one of our local RSN's (only CSC) so if subs in our area wanted ALL of our RSN's, we had to pay for the SP to get them. (In our area, BOTH CSC & FSM are considered our local RSN's, & ALL the local cable systems carry both on expanded basic)

After a little spat at the beginning of baseball this year with FSM, D* & E* now give us BOTH RSN's as part of our basic packages, so it is no longer necessary for us to sub to SP to get all our RSN's. ;) :)

I'm actually surprised that that channel is not part of the ESPN programming as far as getting the channel, seeing you normally get all the other ESPN's

You don't even get ESPN Deportes as part of the Sports Pack. It shows alot of European soccer. I mean it is an ESPN sports channel. This pisses me off mightily.

Well knowing ESPN, don't be surprised one of these days if it gets moved out to either Choice/TC or the + pkgs. Look at all the other channels that have moved out of the SP over the years, such as CSTV, Golf, & more recently, Outdoor Ch.

Thats why ESPN has the "E" in thier name.

My sports pack question is going to come next baseball season. I do get the sports package as well as the MLB-EI pack and included with that the super fan add on. Now with all the additional RSN`s available in HD will it behoove me to CANCEL the super fan and save I think it was $99{could be wrong on the price here} and receive plenty of hi-def broadcasts via the recently added HD RSN`s.

I`m not disputing what your saying, but as of right now I am getting YES-HD/NESN-HD and all the other RSN HD nets that are on CONUS. If I do not re-up for super fan I will not get those games being shown in HD on those channels even if I am subscribing the EI package ?? That’s crazy. Believable :D with the way D* and E* market things, but still crazy.
