Does anyone have a TV code that might work for a LG model 42LB5D? I have tried all the Goldstar codes and the few LG codes on the Dish website. The best I can do is 505 which will turn it on/off and change the volume. "John"

Thats most likely all you will get, what other functions where you looking for the dish remote to do? Zoom etc.

LOL, I have that EXACT same TV! I wish the installer would have wrote down the code he used. He programed it correctly on the FIRST TRY!

Now I'm hoping the batteries never die, because when I go to change them, all the codes will be rest, and I won't know what to punch back in!

If you want to know the code he put in just do these steps:
1. press and hold the tv button till the all the top buttons turn red
2. press the # button twice
3. the tv light will blink out the code to you. It will blink the first number then a pause then blink the 2nd number then a pause then blink the third number. For Sony you will see 5 blinks, pause, short blink, pause, short blink. (short blink means a zero) the code for sony is 500
4. Thats it!

Scott,

I am not sure what remote you have or the receiver, but I believe the procedure to get the remote code from the remote is as follows:

1. Press and hold the Input Button (for the sake of this example I will use TV, but it will work for all)
2. When all 4 Input lights turn on (these are the ones at the top of the remote), press the # key twice
3. Count the number of times the TV Input light blinks (it will be a series of three numbers with a pause in between the three numbers for TV and VCR, a series of four numbers for AUX, and one series for SAT). A quick blink equals 0. Any other number of blinks (for example, if the light blinks 5 times steady, then the first number would be 5).

As an example, when I do this procedure with my TV input, I get 5 steady blinks, followed by a short pause (less than a second but longer than in between the blinks), 6 steady blinks, followed by a short pause, and then 6 steady blinks. Thus my TV's code is 566.

Hope that helps. Let me know if it doesn't,
Geoff

Sorry about duplicating Ray, I was typing as you were posting.

It may or may not work for you but I'm using 773 for a 42LC4D.

I've changed batteries several times & never had it reset.

Sorry, my old D* remote would loose the memory when the batteries were taken out of the remote. So anytime the batteries where changed, we had to type in all the numbers again.

Maybe E*'s remote has a different type of memory, or has a "backup" battery that keeps the codes from being erased.

Hi, sorry to reply back late, but I just wanted to tell you I found out my code. According to the "flashing light" on my remote my code is: 766. This code has worked for me and does all functions like inputs, power, volume, etc.

Hope that helps!

(an owner of the same TV)

Codes may switch a few tv inputs but most just get power and volume!!

Well I have problems saying he should not ask. i have used DISH remotes with 5 different TVS now and it has controlled more than you say in every case. My experience may or amy not be typical but I have always hada access to emnus and the ability to change inputs, enter channel number directs and have the ability to mute the sound. Clearly is is the intent to provide greater functionality than you describe---though I would be the first to say that it does not do that for all TVS.
