PS3 Devil May Cry 4 Demo is up!

I, being a person who plays a lot of pc games understands why the games has to be installed on the ps3 hard drive. The ps3 is a lot of ways like a pc. All pc games is installed on the hard drives to play.

Reasons:

1. Allow the game to load a hell of lot faster when loading new data from the hard drive to the ram, than from the disc.

2. Less wear on the blu ray lasor. No need to get data from game disc. Once the game is install the disc is only needed to verify you have a legit copy of the game to play. Like the pc.

3. Now that the game disc don't have to spin up to send data. That means no blu ray drive noises. The xbox360 dvd drive is always spinning to transfer data to the ram and that's why it's so loud.

Good point, the loading is always faster on the PS3.
I've played the game for 6 hours now...and I only @ mission #3..thats right I am little slow...thats because I am trying to do all the secret missions + getting all the secret orbs..
Overall this game will keep me entertained for the next few weeks.
BTW the online ranking wow, those Japanese dude's occupied the first 100+ rankings..

I was just poking to be honest. :D Got the 360 version myself yesterday.
I think the point is that it was timed to take exactly 5 minutes throughout the game total for all loading screens on the 360. (16 seconds per load) and 6 seconds (an additional 2 minutes total ) from the ps3 per load..

5 minutes vs 30-40 minutes, I blame Capcom for this Not Sony believe it or not.

The install was that long.

I'd definitely rank this game up in my top 3..
Oh btw I am on level 14, yeah I haven't been playing too long, but almost done, and its sad to see its almost over....6 more missions to go and The End.
They did Dante's character very well...he has done a great job, he got his sense of humor back.
Also after playing 12-13 levels of Nero, its kinda hard to go back to Dante...controls are different, attacks are different..
Nero is so much more powerful/better with his Devils Hand...
I hated some of the levels where I took nearly 20 minutes to figure out where to go...you can get lost very easy.
My favorite level was 10-12, where Nero was on top fighting on top of the roof against the priest.
Hands down to capcom, they delivered a true next gen game that I am very impressed with.
Ako, how far did you get in the game, and which version did you pick up?

360 version. LoL was Waiting till today to play it though. Tonight when I get off work. I get obsessive when playing a new game and want to give myself some time so I can play it.

I played mass effect for um like 36 hours when it came out on that weekend :p

That being said I will only get a few days to play it before I pick up my copy of Lost odyssey on thursday. I am such a huge RPG whore.

All I can say is WOW great graphics, I stopped after Mission 2 can't wait to get off work to play more WOW finally a game that I am looking forward to playing after work, this has not happened since God of War 2

You will enjoy the later levels too, the game itself its great...I just don't like the mansion level much, very long, but other than that, its great...
Graphics are just going to be better, especially the headquarters, it will make your jaw drop on how good it looks!
My hat goes down to Capcom because they got it done!

It's a shame. Critics are hard on dmc4. I think critics was looking for a total different game from the previous releases. Some even fault it as if the total game is a failure. I am playing lost planet by capcom on the pc and it's beautiful. I would Love to own dmc4 in the pc release.

ehhe, graphics will be sick on PC lol.
Anyways, the last 2 levels are going to be a huge pain in the ass.
Long long long...oh well..great game :)

Well after 5 hours today I finally beat the game, the levels go so much faster with Dante :) probably because he kicks so much ass with his weapon that he gets from Bariel..
I loved the ending :).
Damn, this was the last DMC...the story ends...I doubt they are going to add anything else more to the story.

Least there is Lost Odyssey this week Ice :) that should be about 50 hours of play :)

Do you think dmc4 have replay values, Icewolf? Have you played ninja gaiden or heavenly sword for the ps3? Both games remind me of the dmc series.

Well I guess, for me It's a one time deal, I like to play games like this once or twice at the most, then they end up in my collection section..
If you are a huge fan of DMC series you will be playing this game several times, and the 2nd half is probably the most fun part of them all..Dante is great especially when he beats the 3rd boss, bariel, the weapon he gets basically rapes everyone.

Keep in mind thats my personal opinion, some people will play this game 5-10 times for the scores and new moves they could learn and secrets.
Without the guide you will have a blast in this game, there will be some areas where it will take you nearly an hour to figure out what to do if you didn't have a guide, now its easy to get lost in the forest level and the castle/mansion since its huge.

Usually the games I end up re-playing are sports/FPS games.

I did play little bit of Ninja Gaiden and also Heavenly Sword, yes they could relate to DMC, but I personally like the storyline on DMC4, it was a masterpiece: graphics, storyline, the way they created the story it didn't give out much, so you wouldn't know how the whole thing would end.
I will definitely try DMC4 again when I get my Dual Shock 3 controller :).

One problem with DMC4 on the PS3 is it does not support 1080i displays. So it joins a number of titles displayed as 480P for those of us using older HDTV's for our gaming.

Speaking of the Dual Shock 3 controller. I never really pay to much attention to not having the rumble in the game with ps3 controller I have now. I played the demo dmc4 on the 360 and it's does adds a feel to the game. If you press start at the start screen on 360 demo. The surge almost make you drop the controller. Even the 360 controller have a powerful shock or I been playing my ps3 to much.

When is the Dual Shock 3 controller is going to hit the shelves?

I thought they came out with a fix for the other hdtv about 3rd or 4th os upgrade after the ps3 release.

Also I read somewhere the ps3 release is 720p and the 360 was 1080p.

My best guess will be before Summer.

They have added a way for developers to easily have the their 720p images converted to 1080i. But it is not automatic and does require using specific video incoding techniques.

The did not upgrade the PS3 itself to do this.

The new demo's DMC4 and the Club both display at 720p and downgrade to 480P if your set cannot accept 720P. Most sets prior to about 2003, and some since than do not accept 720P.
