Found a 7.5 Ft Unimesh Dish Close to Home:
Went for a walk in the Bitter Cold on Friday night and took a different route thru a park 2 Blocks from home and discovered a 7.5 Ft Unimesh Dish in a neighbour's yard sitting Disconnected outside on a tripod, similar to my tripod. See pics. On Sun afternoon I spoke to the guy and he told me he hasn't used the dish for years since he has 2 small Pizza dishes on the roof. He said he threw out the Receiver a while back. So I asked him if I could take a closer look at the Dish.....also saying that some people are happy to just get rid of these Dishes. Came back and asked him how much for the Dish. He said it's yours if you want it!!! Told him I needed to talk to my helper & would come back when its warmer outside. He said okay and we exchanged phone numbers. Not sure where I would place this Dish since I already have a 12 footer on a tripod in my backyard, but at least the price is right!

12 Foot Mesh Dish:
About a block from my place I have always been admiring a 12 Ft Mesh Dish on the top of a garage on a 2 story house. Looks like the Dish pole goes down into the garage. I had always assumed this Dish was in use - see pics. It happened that the house owners' son pulled up in his car as I was passing by and I asked him if they are using the 12 footer. He said no its disconnected - it came with the house when they moved in as the previous owner didn't want to dismantle the Dish. He said his dad was on vacation in the warm south and to call them when they come back next week.

How about that - 2 Dishes within 2 blocks of my house. (I had to travel 25 miles across town to get my 12 Foot Mesh Dish). I'm not too crazy about climbing on the roof of that garage for the 12 footer, but I could sure use the Actuator since my Actuator for my 12 footer isn't working. The 7.5 footer looks like it would be easy to take apart since its just on a tripod about 7 to 8feet high, however the Actuator on the 7.5 footer looks like it is too small for my 12 footer. Any comments would be appreciated.

1. you are a man with exceedingly good luck - :up

2. as always, your pictures reveal a lot of extra detail. - :)

3. below that 12' dish, is a little FTA dish with an Invacom QPH-031 dual-mode LNB.
That fellow is an FTAer, and he's just wasting his 12' dish. -

Thanks Anole, yeah, the Fortec dish with the Invacom LNB must have been recently installed because it wasn't there in the fall. I know they didn't install the 12 footer (the previous owner did), so maybe they may want to junk it, but climbing up there is not advised at this time of year - 35 degrees below zero today. I am very much interested in the 7.5 footer but just don't know where I would put it??

Thanks for the comments guys, when it gets warmer I'll try to get the 7.5 Unimesh Dish. Wonder if it may be easier to set up then all the problems I've had with my current 12 footer dish??
