dish csr problem

I agree if you don't want them in your house, buy and install yourself. I know that when I got my 622 the tech put the 1000.2 up and I installed the 622 but that was just to save time, and I had alot of cables back there but they finished the install inside with me, and they were awesome (Best techs I have met doing a job) The first time ever calling one since they wouldn't just ship me the dish and receiver.

If you call them they will come, if you tell them not to come in they will leave, and you can stay with OTA.

I have been an honest paying customer of dish and do not have nothing illegal in my house.I have been with them for 10 yrs now.and I have not been selling smart cards either.get a life

I'm surprised Dish hasn't demanded their HD receiver back or charged the OP for it yet (unless he owns the thing and is not on a lease). Given the circumstances I think that move by Dish would be justified.

I think if your that much better than the dish installer than shut up and figure a way to get it turned on and STOP whining.

Man, interesting thread here.
I kinda, sorta, see both sides of this thing. But I think I would've let the guy finish his job if that's what dish required.
I've had techs at the house 3 times. I needed them at the house... none. But somewhere dish figured I didn't know how to run cables correctly...
I've had new dish setups twice, and twice I've re-tuned the dish(es) after they left.
Last 'expert' tech came to install a new receiver in another room.
Even after I showed him and told him to run the cables into the wall (where I already had conduit ran and stubbed into a wall panel) doopid smope doker STILL DRILLED HOLES RIGHT THROUGH MY FLOOR.
Same guy installed my parents dish and instead of running new cable for the receiver - he cut and spliced into the ribbon cable for the C-Band! Dad was fit to be tied when we finally figured out what had happened...
I know there are good ones and bad ones, but I don't care to have any in my house either.
(No offense intended to the good guys, OK?)

I've never had a tech at my house!
But then again, I've never called and scheduled one to be there either.

If you bought your own receiver, why did you call for an install???
And if you did, in fact, buy your own receiver, they should have no problem turning on the programming.

Then you also deny you tried to sell cards...

Sure, that was a long time ago, maybe you forgot.
I'll be nice.

Wow!!

Good job digging up a 4 year old post. I was wondering why he even brought up the card selling.

Now I know. :p

Was just a quick search, I was 'trying' to give the benefit of doubt.
Oh well.

It's official, I'm no longer posting to this thread. :D:D:D

Personally I can relate entirely to not wanting some low-level tech installing my dish. All the good techs have good jobs and they get paid way more than dish can pay for doing the freebie installs. The good techs work installing T1 for the phone company or configuring routers and switches for some kind of networking gig. Anyways I can relate to the OP.

But there is a way of getting what you want and this is to buy your 622/722 from dishstore.net or whereever and then you own the equipment. Then get some dishes, a switch, a compression coax connector, etc and do the show entirely yourself. Then all you need to do is call up the tech support guys on the helpline and tell them you have xxx sig on 110, xxx sig on 119, xxx sig on 129 or 61.5 and you are ready to rock and roll.

Ive never had a tech over to touch any of my stuff and the best thing about it is that ...

I learn something!

I did it all myself and I am repsonsible for the entire thing. When something goes wrong ...( and after years of moves/changes/add/deletes something will go wrong ...) I know where to go what to do.

That to me personally is worth it even tho I spend $$$ to buy my own equipment and burn my own time doing my own installs. The knowledge and fun of figuring stuff out and getting things to work is priceless.

that was not me.I do not sell contraband.

Dude give it a rest you can't do much on this board without someone knowing what was done you are busted so save yourself and give it a rest before you make a bigger fool of your self then you already have.

If I were you I would call dish back and ask them to just activate the receiver. If needed have them upgrade the programming. Often when I call in to activate the csr thinks I'm the customer and they activate anyway without asking for the "tech". Some csr's even give ME trouble and refuse to do their job, knowing I'm a tech. I just hang up and call back to get another csr. Once the work order called for two hd dvr upgrades. I got there and the customer only had standard tv's. The first csr refused to modify. The second didn't understand the difference. The third csr modified the job to two 625's. Good Luck. :)
