I don't think anybody thinks Dish is reading these threads and making their business decisions on what a bunch of bitchers want.
It is harmless. We write our feelings here. If anybody actually thinks this makes a difference when Dish makes a decision, they will be sadly disappointed when Dish does not act on these complaints. I think most people here are just stating what they want to see. We all have a common interest in HD and Dish and have come together to discuss it. But don't think anything is going to get done. Charlie isn't reading this and thinking, "we better hurry up and add Sci-Fi"
The only hope this site has of getting the genuine attention of Dish execs would be a national news story about how Dish is falling way behind DirecTV. Maybe Scott could do an interview for Fox News. They'd probably love to have a story like that considering the whole DirecTV Murdoch thing. They could paint the picture for what it is, DirecTV blowing Dish away on HD, and Dish slow to react. The common folk that may have HD but not realize DirecTV is way better would begin to leave Dish, in addition to the freaks like the rest of us that actually follow the goings on of the sat and cable industry.
I think this would get Charlie to respond. This site alone is not going to make a difference. I'll bet if Scott solicited some of the big news agencies about the "state of satellite services and HD in the USA today," he might get a short segment and the ball would roll in the right direction.
Plus that, we'd get to see the beloved Scott's (only a mother could love) mug on the TV screen! haha

Or do you mean movie channels as in premium channels.... HBO, Starz, Max, Showtime, not specifically TMC? Because TMC is garbage.
AMC would be nice to have by the time Breaking Bad season 2 comes on.
What is all this desire for WGN HD? I am assuming it is you baseball fans? What else does WGN show that would be desirable in HD? I haven't watched WGN since my boyhood when I watched crappy sitcoms... same goes for TBS.
Ive been a Dish subscriber since 1998.I have had pretty good service with them.I have Americas everything pack,locals hd ultimate,superstations package.If Dish doesnt add any HD THIS COMING WEEK IM GOING TO DIRECT.I dont like Directs dvr or their guide but enough is enough.I guess Direct would love to get my $130.00 a month.I would also get more channels for my money(HD] that is.Dish needs to wake up ,they are loosing subscribers.I know of 10 people in my area that have already made the switch.BETTER GET THE BALL ROLLING DISH
Besides the Greenville HD locals (now May, yeah sure), espnnews HD, SpeedHD, and yeah, Playboy HD. I know it doesn't even exist but I still want it doggone it!
By the way, whoever said 11:00 for a taste of espnnews in HD on espn2 was wrong, it's noon EDT.

It was simply a guess, and it is showing up at 10:30 central. so that would make it 11:30 eastern
In some cases that is true. The locals on the 8s are HD, and some others, it looks great!
