Soon is here for new DISH HD?

So that leaves the approx 3 million people in the north part of Florida without HD-LIL.

Good job dish, way to win subs.

*Everyone seems to be cheering, need a negative here somewhere, and why not me? I was promised JAX HD-LIL back in 2006.

On the other hand, my appt with DirecTV is Saturday, I will cancel if SciFi is lit Wednesday.

Now back to the subject, I have a feeling many of you will be disappointed again not because DISH will not add any new HD's but Charlie faces a dilemma with his $30 HD-Only pack, if he adds too many new HD's in this pack many of DISH's subs will downgrade and DISH will lose a lot of revenue. But if he does not add them in this pack a lot of subs who already have it will be pissed.

The only way is to negotiate lower rates from the new HD's producers so he can afford to sell the HD-Only pack for $30. It is my speculation that is what slowed down the new HD roll out. Of course only my speculation.

I wouldn't be surprised they at least add the SciFiHD and USAHD. But if he manages to add most of the 25 new HD's on his list in that $30 pack it will be a major coup of historical proportion. The odds are again him but he had gone against all odds and won before.

That's very astute analysis, and I would be willing to lay odds that you are correct.

So I guess they will take down 2 hd ppv channels so these can take their place.

Hot Damn!!!!:D

They already took down the 2 HD PPV channels on 110 back several months ago, in order to add USA-HD and SciFi-HD. Then the negotiations went sour and they have been talking for months trying to work it out.

Meanwhile, the bandwidth has been reserved on the transponder all these months.

So, to answer the other guy's question, yes, both USA-HD and SciFi-HD will be on 110.

Greenville, Sc Locals

Hey scott. Thanks for all you do and i hope you keep up the good work. While some on here are asking and you seem to have heard some in depth info about some markets i was wandering if you had heard anything more about Greenville, SC market HD locals. I know that they were put on target for early may but was wandering maybe if there had been a change good or bad. Or anything else you may have on them. Thanks!!!

I give Charlie props on this for having the balls to be the first major player (I think) to implement an HD-Only package. Standard Def is polishing the brass on the titanic. It's goin' down man.

"Tales from the darkside" showing atm on 110 12457 cid 9432.

Clevland Locals are listed on both memos I got, so it looks like they will launch.

I still am unsure on the USA HD, SCIFI HD, and Chiller will launch this week. :(

I am trying my best to dig for answers as I can.

I guess my question was will they be mirrored on 129 at first, and how soon before they are on 61.5 only?

My understanding is that they will only be at 61.5. Lots of people (including me) will need a wing dish.

which begs the question "when will STO & FOX Ohio go to 61.5?"

This really blows the "moving" part for me. I really have no legitimate reason to "move" to Cleveland if they keep the RSN's on 129. I don't think there is any other programming on 61.5 where I live.

What does this mean? Are these channels (presumably USA and Sci Fi) lit? Why wouldn't something show up on the uplink report?

Thats a good question....I'm not sure.

Then which HD channels will launch for sure?
Specifics are glaringly missing from every "Inside Sources Tell Me" post.
I see you took the "Weather Prediction" out of your signature.

If those dont launch this week then there will be NO new national HD launched this week.

I just made a few calls and hope to have a better idea of whats up shortly.

As soon as I hear something I will post it as soon as I can. As you might have heard my grandmother passed away last night and I have been asked by my family to help with her funeral arangements. So again when I hear something I will post it as soon as I can.

Until Wednesday/Thursday rolls around, there's really no way to know for sure what will roll out this week. Or if anything will roll out. The problem here is that everything is speculation, though Scott has contacts that have been able to provide better "rumors" than some others.

Has Scott gotten burned by sharing info with us only to have it not happen? You bet he has. All he can do is post the info he gets and just put it out there. I take everything he posts regarding this stuff as rumor till the channels show up. Regarding USA/Sci-Fi HD, the fact that there's actual video and audio on those channels seems to indicate that they are closer to making the channels available.

Truth be known, even if Dish is planning on rolling out those channels this week, there's no reason to think those plans are written in stone and cannot change.
