I am now 1/2 way through season 5 of SG1; this has to be the best season of the first five. Every episode is compelling, and it really ties in lots of old stories. Loving it.

Today I watched 48 Hours, the first episode with Rodney McKay. Geez... he has gotten fat since then :) And from the beginning he was a fiend for food; and had no social graces. Love it.

And Wormhole-Xtreme was hilarious, particularly at the end -- "You mean this isn't a real show?" :D

I LOVE SG1. Just ordered season 6.

I wish it were still in production. It was/is a great series, I agree! :)

I just hope I enjoy the post-original cast episodes as much. Already not looking forward to the Daniel Jackson being gone season.

I just love the chemistry that the original SG1 had. One of the best "away teams" possible. (Sorry, still a trekker at heart).

I liked that season with Jona's (Daniel gone) better than some of the later ones when they lost key actors...
Doc Fraiser, Gen. Hammond, Jack...

Not a spoiler. I already knew that Doc Frasier and Hammond and Jack go away... :)

Hell, in a day when I was bored a few weeks ago, I went through the entire wikipedia entry on SG1, looking at each season, to get a better sense of where things were going :D

With Stargate: Continuum coming on BD July 29th, that just might be enough to make me bite-the-bullet and by a new HDTV and a Blu-ray player. :)

Since I am not planning on replacing my series DVDs with BD, the movie won't be enough to convince me to make the move. But I am looking forward to it. I haven't seen the first yet, as I haven't gotten to the Ori arc yet in the series.

And the real reason I don't want a PS3: if I get one, my kid will take control of the HDTV. :)

So far as I can tell, Continuum is the only BD release in the Stargate series (not counting the original extended theatrical film release).

I wouldn't get a PS3 either. A drive would be nice...then I could eventually burn stuff to BD...but I haven't decided yet...
