And now the best part of the show...

Leslie Harper with Tech News.

Leslie announces that external receivers can be moved between 622's and 722's and the 612! Your not locked into one receiver now!

Leslie says that they will be showing off a DPP33 switch at Team Summit plus a new Dish for "Eastern" customers.

TV2 IR Solution is coming soon, plus some cool new remote controls! (COOL!)

Tech Forum May 12th on Channel 101 at 9pm.

And that does it for Tech News

I hope you meant external hard drives here...

card swap is when they swap the cards in the receiver

Some receivers its built in but you will do a "swap"...you'll insert a new card into the receiver

Yes, I was wondering about that too. I have a 508 that still has a card, but my 622 does not. It has a slot, which I presume can accept a card to override the internal one.

i wonder what a card swap is?mine dont have a card:)
You will be sent a new card, there is an empty slot now for a card (the other card is built into the motherboard)

When you put the new card in, it disables the built in smartcard on the motherboard.

Thanks Iceberg since I was wondering about the ones that don't have a card like mine:):up

Hmmm maybe that's why I got a weird message from my 622 last weekend when I moved it. I reconnected the drive and it said it was the first time it was connected and it needed to be authorized. I said ok.. it didn't delete anything off the drive and was up and running.

I thought it weird that the drive had been on that 622 since they enabled external drives but it needed to be authorized. If that's what happened it makes sense now.

But there hasn't been a software update for the 622 or 722 since February.
