If your a owner or manager of a store that sales Hughes net then you need to pay attention to this.

I dont know if you noticed all the out of warranty calls Hughes expects you to keep loosing on. We all signed on to do the in warranty call and we mostly loose money but that just comes with the contract, taking the good with the bad. How long can we keep that up? When a customer is out of warranty Hughes net charges the customer $120 and still expects us to roll a truck for $80 and if we refuse the job we get a charge back. I dont know about you but when a customer is out of warranty they should have to pay the dealer fees. We are here to make money not give away our time on a loosing situation.
I dont know why I'm the only one screaming about this.
Now with all the IA8 tranponder changes, I told HN this satellite does not work for us a long time ago but nothing is done, the Satellite sucks and now Hughesnet expects to once agian take a loss to fix hughesnets mistakes eventhough we warned them.
Hughesnet clames if we ck in and off a job, make notes and they will review and possibly kick us a little more money. Ya know, when a customer is out of warranty my wages are not up for review and nether should yours. I'm told that I'm the only one screaming about this so ether Hughesnet is not telling me the truth or you guys are not paying attention. So get off your butt and start making this a issue before its to late.
I'm a RSI dealer, if you want to complain Call Brian at RSI Idaho 1-800-825-7999. Ask for brian and tell him you cant keep doing this. The more people that complain the better this will work. I dont know who to ask for at P10 but it cant be hard to figure out.
Just think off all the money and time you are loosing because of this.
Tell your boss, your installers, your competitor if we dont all stick together the Hughes Corp greed machine will walk all over us. I have a family to support, how about you.

Gary Kent is the installation manager at P10. I think you are the only one complaining about this. Funny about how you told Hughes about the IA8 satellite also. Last I checked that one was working fine and about 75% of the enterprise installs I do go to that satellite.

I am sure if you call Gary he will gladly hear your complaint and promptly find someone else to cover your area if you have a problem. I welcome you to do this also because it will mean more area for our company. :D Its the I love you, but if you screw up or don't like it I'll love the next person just as much philosophy.

Sounds to me like you are just a Dealer instead of a Fulfillment company. If I could give you some advice maybe if you are having such a big problem with selling for Hughes and you are really losing money why would you not stop? I have done many things that I have lost money on, but I did not continue to feed the beast.

I know I'm talking out of school but it sounds like the complaint is that $120 is not enough money to repoint a dish. How long does it actually take to repoint a dish with all the equipment in hand?

+1

First off, you're barking up the wrong tree. The distributors don't make the rules, they just abide by them.

Second, If you are doing fullfillment then I'm sorry that it wasn't explained to you that when you get "spoon fed" work FREE, there may be some pain in the butt jobs that go along with it. It's called take the good with the bad when your being spoon fed work.

As Tate said, I'm sure there are other companies willing and ready to take your area for you.

HughesNet is not for everyone. Some love it and others hate it and get out.
It sounds like you may need to re-think the HughesNet program.

Actually we dont do full fillment, we are the top dealer in 2 countys, nothing is spoon fed. Hughes dosent pay 120, they charge the customer 120 and pay the dealer 80.
The "spoon fed dealers" would not worry as much because they under pay there workers so no biggie, we cover a huge area in Norcal so getting around is not cheap. It can take a hr to go 25miles.
If enough dealers complain then somthing will get done but sounds to me that this fourm is a spoon fed dealer fourm. If you guys where actually in this to make money then you would have a issue with spending over $80 to do a $80 call.
This is about "OUT OF WARRANTY" calls. We know all about taking the good with the bad.
We've been in biusness for over 30 years and you dont stay in biusness by giving it away.
Thats right, I dont have to do Hughes. Thats not my problem, My customers are mine untill I give them to Hughes so that makes it Hughes problem. We add close to 1000 new customers a year. You spoon fed dealers cant afford to work here so I'm the only person taking care of the people in this area.
I'm just trying to keep customers happy and not loose my ass in the prosses. Once agian this is only about the out of warranty customers. Just imagine how much money your loosing on a out of warranty call when you can be making your shop fee's.
The thing is, you come on here and flame me for trying to get us more money but when I complete my mission you'll what? thank me for somthing you had nothing to do with.
Now I know why so many full fillment dealers never last.
To bad :{
Its your loss

We are not flaming you. Just trying to give you some advice. I have been working with Hughes for around 3 years and the company I work for has been working as a fulfillment company for around 6 years. Hughes is not the only thing we do. We are an Electronics company that can provide customers with anything from satellites, to home theater, to security systems. Hughes is our biggest source of work. The way we make more money is keeping our numbers up "we have to have an 82% completion rate every month on orders we receive that month", not getting QA orders, and expanding our area whenever we can. Another thing when WE have a customer and we sell them Hughes we still look at them as our customer. We do callbacks 2 weeks 2 months and so on to make sure they are happy. When they do have problems they will call our office first 9 times out of 10 and if its something we cannot help them with "like slow browsing etc" or something they need a truck roll on they could get under warranty they we send them to Hughes. We do this because alot of our customers we sell Hughes to we also sell Directv or Dish and if they called them instead of us first they are happy to send there guys out and charge us back for something stupid like changing the channel on the tv back to 3. That is just the rules they have in place and we could either abide by those rules or shut the doors. Its all just part of the business.

As for you saying FF companies cannot make alot of money because of the rates they pay. We employee around 20 techs do work in 5 states. My company pays for my vehicle, gas, takes care of any of the tools I need that are normal to the job, and I made 65000 last year. Not everyone is like me though. We do have subcontractors that work for us that drive their own vehicle. These guys make 125 per install and most do 3 jobs per day. I would have been happy when I was subcontracting to have a deal like that.

thats right - HUGHES sucks as do cable companies and lots of others that charge tons for little to no customer service. Go fta and stop the monthly pirating of your pocket book that puts overpriced sobs like this in the place that they get to - boohooing over actually having to do a little manual labor that still leaves them with super overpriced salaries
