Thanks....this was announced on the last retailer chat as their planned schedule. Hope that the schedule is maintained..............But.....what about NATIONAL HD?????????????????

DirecTV has New Orleans locals in HD. Why not Dish?

New orleans was scheduled/promised for dec 2006:mad:
Still no hd locals.People understand things happen, but 2 years, and now not even on the upcoming list:confused:
The 2 main reasons i went with dish in Nov 2006 was, cs rep said new orleans
hd locals would be available by xmas 2006 "for sure" and the VOOM networks.
Now no voom and still no local hd. If no local hd by the end of the year, i will go to directv who has had n.o. hd locals for a while now .
Nothing against dish personally, i like dish and would love to keep dish, however if they cant give me what the competition can, i will go there.

I realize that. I received This announcement today from the D* website. I get these announcements emailed to me. I pass them along as information.
National HD?....To what are you refering?

I, too, long for national HD. But it seem Local HDs are what attracts subscribers, so this continues to be a big focus. If they get these, thye still have 17 more markets to go to meet their 100 market commitment. However, it seems someone mentioned after the Team Summit that there would be a wave of national HD this summer. Let's hope this is true.

I like the fact that my market was listed above. A market that DirecTV doesn't even feel like providing local channels even in SD.

Just waiting for Dish to get Reno, NV's HD channels......gahhhhh

Same here, but judging from the quality of what I see in SD, I'm not expecting too much when and if we ever get HD from Reno.
Have you seen any HD from Reno, and if so how was it?

I know that KRNV and KRXI are "HD," while KOLO and KTVN are "DT." I'm guessing their national feeds are HD, but so far I myself haven't seen the quality of our HD locals.

Chattanooga Locals

Well, this does me no good. I am not interesting in a Dish farm, as apparently, I would have to have a second Dish pointing to 61.5. Makes me mad -- first, we had to get a SuperDish to pick up our locals on 105. Then, when we signed up for HD, we had to get a Dish 1000 to get 105/110/129. Now, to get HD locals, I'd have to get a Dish 500 to point to 61.5. That is asinine.

Does anyone know at this point from which satellite the Topeka, Kansas locals will be transmitted? This question may be premature, but I am curious if I will be needing an equipment change.

Almost all local HD launches have been from the 61.5 E12 satellite. Given that Topeka is covered by an E12 spot, this is likely where they will go. I can't say for sure, though.

I can't wait to see how the Madison, WI locals look, we have 2 stations that multicast

NBC and CBS. Our CBS has always looked bad for NFL games. It's badly overcompressed.

look slike the Crescent City is in for another Levee breach(Gustav) in about 6 days..No wonder why the NO tv stations don't bother
Uh, they bothered for D*, They have locals in HD but not E*
And actually if were lucky this thing will side skirt us more to the western Texas side in about 4 days. But only if were lucky...
