My HR22 was locked up this morning. It was on but wouldn't respond to remote commands. RBR seemed to fix. I had my local channels this morning. However, I didn't think to check on anything else before I left. I didn't even turn on my HR20 so I don't know if it had any problems. I'll check when I get home from work.

I tried to change channels at about 3:30 AM when I discovered the problem. Unplugged both of my HR's at that time and that fixed everything.
Yeah that fits into the time frame that I am hearing. I was wondering how it looked if someone was watching

Just finished getting my HR20-100 back up. Had to unplug and let it reboot. Seems fine now. Rest of my regular H boxes are OK.
Its odd, if they didnt do a HR specific update, that no other series of boxes had a problem. I would think the H series would have had the same problem

Edit: At least two have reported the R-22 was having the same problem added it to the list in the first post

Same here both of my HR20's were locked. One was on all night kept playing tv but would not respond to commands. The other would not come on. Rebooted both and all is well. Didn't lose any favorites, recordings or upcoming to dos.

Seems like a number of people are locked up again as of 11:45 central. I am still not where I can check. Anyone?

My HR20-100 was locked up this morning when I got home from work had to hard boot the sucker to get it on guide data froze at 97%. Then receiver just started working kept getting retrieving guide data for more info press help turned unit off tried to power back would not had to reset again and same thing over again

My bedroom receiver was off and wouldnt turn on this
AM. the living room receiver was lit up, but wouldnt respond with the remote. Had to reset both receivers - problem solved (so I thought)Home for lunch watching last nights Entourage, when it was over, I hit the stop button and TV went dead, had to reset receiver again. I called Directv, and they have a message reguarding this issue, and the hold time was extremley long. I dont have long to wait (1 hour lunch) will see how things go tonight.

Both my HR20-700s locked up overnight. Had to use the red reset button on both and it seemed to take a long time to respond. But didn't lose any programming or recorded shows.

HOWEVER: one I had on all morning, then turned off to check the other. The 2nd which had come back fine this morning after reset, was off again. No response to remote or to manual power button etc. (Same as the overnight issue). Had to reset a second time.

Then back to check the first which had no been off for approx. 1/2 hour - yep locked up again. Dead, no sign of life, no response to remote or manual power buttons. Had to do the reset again and am right now waiting for it to finish resetting. Okay its up and fine again - all programming intact.

So both machines had to be reset then had to be reset after being turned off.

Our HR20-100 locked up overnight. 0x254 We leave it on all the time & it was stuck on the same channel. Unplug reboot worked fine.

The HR21-200/AM21 also locked up. Unplug reboot worked fine.

Interestingly the same thing happened to the HR20 last Tue. (9/30). Had never had this problem before then. Unplug reboot worked fine. I had associated that lockup with a web access recording request I had initiated earlier in the day.

Yep. After rebooting this morning, everything was fine. I get home a few minutes ago, I had to reboot again.

Wow....on a poll at DBS 97.12% of 729 people that voted had this problem. Thats amazing

I had the same problem this morning with my HR21. I found the Unit was off and it would not turn on with the remote. I unplugged it and waited 5 minutes and then plugged it back in. The unit came up normally with no other problems?
