I just started having this problem with SW version 6.14 that seems to affect only NBC-HD. I can't pause or rewind. When watching live TV if I try to pause, rewind, or skip back it doesn't work. The buffer shows the program is paused, but when I press play, or skip forward it jump to live TV. If I try to rewind I can see the time showing how far back I have rewound the program, but you don't see the picture moving backwards. After I have paused or rewound the program and hit play it always jumps to live TV.

This only happens on NBC-HD, if I switch to another HD channel or NBC-SD pause, skip back, and rewind works perfectly.

I did a soft re-set, a hard-reset, and still have the same problems. I tried it using both tuner 1 and 2, same problem. All other channles seem to FF and RW fine, it's just NBC-HD it does it on both 622's one is 1080i the other 720P. Doesn't matter if it's Componet or HDMI.

Thoughts?

I called DISH, no help. But here is what I have found:

Others in Oklahoma City / Norman area are reporting the same issue: See here: DBSTalk.Com

It's not just NBC now it, Fox and ION.

I have two 622's and it does it on both. However if you go to SD everything works fine.

I also have OTA HD on these channels (on one of the TV's), and if I switch to OTA the rewind, pause, etc works perfectly.

I called DISH and reported the problem and they said it was the Network. However if so why can I record on OTA HD?

Something is wrong with DISH HD locals when they are sending them back to the OKC / Norman area. I tried the other channels and they are OK for NOW.

So in short it's not your unit, it a flaw in either the software upgrade, or how DISH is sending the signal to us because remember: MY OTA-HD works fine, my SD on these channels works fine, just the HD on Fox, NBC and ION are doing this.

Yep, I am in the OKC DMA also. Very frustrating last night, not being able to pause any local channels. Wifee said it was working OK this morning. I will check it out at noon today (at work now).

Also recorded locals off satellite last night jumped to the end without playing. Hopefully my recordings from last night will be fixed today. If not a complaint will be filed.

Ya think some flag was introduced by OKC or Dish, ala no record flag?

No, just tried it at 11:57 still not fixed on KFOR anyway.
This stuff is as mysterious as hell!

I've got one OTA station that I can't get the guide for. When it was Fox it didn't work and now it is CW and it still doesn't work. Been through level 2 tech support and they said they were working on. That was a year ago.

Add to these odd events the skipping sound tracks on HD locals only that occurs in some cities on some 6/722 but not all.

You would think these things were magic and no one can find Samantha or Jeanie.

I emailed tech support, but haven't heard a thing yet. It seems like they know there is a problem, but don't know what to do.

So right now it you have timers in place you had better check them and change them to SD if they are on Fox, NBC or ION or you won't be able to watch them.

:(

Damm it, it was happening again on the Dallas game yesterday afternoon. I hope they get this crap fixed.

Hey, I also have the OKC Locals. I have a 722. I've been having the same problems when I try to rewind or skip back on NBC-HD and FOX-HD. Its been happening to me for about 5 days. But it only happens when I'm watching live sports on these channels. On FOX it does it during the L.A-Phil baseball games and during the NFL games yesterday. Last night was the first time it did it on NBC. During the Sunday night NFL game.

As of right now I can rewind and skip back Live TV on FOX and NBC. (3:50 CT)

I have a feeling it won't work during the baseball game tonight on FOX. I'll be back to update. Its just werid!

It is working right now (5:25 P.M. CTS) However I watch a lot of sports and I would be peeved if it starts happening during sports, because when it happens you can't even watch the recorded event. You press play and it jumps to the end of the program.

At least for now it's working :)

However no explanation was ever given for why it happened.
