What the hell???? So I'm enjoying the Pregame Show for the Magic on Sun Sports HD in true HD widescreen, and BAM at 7 pm it's blacked out. I'm thinking, why can't this be like the EI package where you get both teams version but calm down and just switch to the LP channel for the Hawks feed. Well now, I'm watching this game on SportsSouth (Hawks Feed) and it's got the side bar and isn't in true HD from what I can see despite it saying "HD" in the guide and pumped up as that on the guide. What gives, why does this happen? Sunsports is showing this game in TRUE HD!!!!!

Simple Station X cant show it while Station Y can, D* has to comply with this. Even the NFLST gets black outs if its on a local affiliate (unless D* just mirrors the local on the NFLST channel)

Complain to the league. They are the ones that set the blackout rules.

I do think that the guide should explicitly say whether a game will be blacked out, instead of a stupid notice about games possibly be blacked out at the time it is.

The only reason it's balcked out on the Magic Network is because for some reason the League Pass chose to show the SprotsSouth Hawks feed. What is the rhyme and reason for that??? I mean baseball now shows both feeds, I just don't get it, especially since the Magic feed on Sun is true HD!!!!

The NBA decides what feed is shown on League Pass, not the provider. In fact, DirecTV is negotiating with the league to allow the feeds of both teams to be shown (like they do with the NHL and MLB packages), and has even allocated channel space for it. This gives us access to more HD feeds, allows you to pick which announcers you want to listen to, etc.

But for some reason the NBA hasn't agreed to it yet.

Thanks Sandra, had a feeling it was league specific since Baseball and Hockey allow you to get both feeds. That was new to the Extra Innings package this year and I absolutely LOVED it!!! No more listening to the opposing teams announcers as a Yankee fans and I'm sure fans of other teams agree there is nothing like your home team network. Anyway, I hope the NBA steps up down the line on this.
