New install, sounds works fine if put on mode 1 on both tv's, but they have to share. When put on dual, sounds goes dead on tv2. Sounds easy, but I've been troubleshooting all night????

Have you tried picking a different channel for the TV2 output?

Connect a cable from the 21-69 OUT on the receiver to a splitter and run that to your main TV and your secondary TV to verify sound that way. If no sound that way on multiple TVs, then receiver is bad. If only no sound on one TV, either that cable is bad (not usually likely in this scenario) or that TV is bad or possibly the TV is set to SAP (secondary audio program).

There are two coax cables coming out of my wall plate, only one is hooked to anything. The one that is plugged in is hooked into one diplexer which splits the cable into two. One of those signals is going to the "home distribution" area of the 722, the other signal is then channeled into a splitter which makes two more coax cables going into Sat 1 and Sat 2 of the 722. I am running HDMI to my main TV.

I know this sounds stupid, but is the second cable coming out of the wall plate supposed to be plugged into anything? (It's not).

Probably not. It may have before the advent of Dish Pro PLUS technology when a dual tuner would have required two lines to the dish. What I'm suggesting to you is to take that wire off the Home Distribution jack and put a new wire on that jack and feed that new wire to a splitter. Connect your old wire up to that splitter and also connect a wire from that splitter to your main TV just for the purpose of this test. Then put your main TV on the same channel as your secondary TV so they are both watching the same thing. Then see if audio is missing on both.
