Was watching the Bowl Selection Show on ESPN and at the bottom of the screen said that Chris Mortenson has learned that the Browns will fire Crennel after the season and try to hire Marty Schottemheimer(sp). This is obviously not a surprise.

Wow. At least when the Redskins went that route with Joe Gibbs they were bringing back a 3 time SB winner. Can the Browns hire Ernest Byner as RB coach too? That would make it perfect. :D

Paging HD MM...

why do you feel the need to "page" someone every time an article comes up about that person's team?? I guess they wont see it otherwise

Kinda stupid that they announce he's fired yet wait until the end of the season. Why not just wait until the end of the season??

huh...maybe he has a life ;)

But I'm sure he'll be back :)

or maybe he got huffy like Bill did because HIS team lost and stormed off

geez...when the Vikes lost 2 players (maybe...) I didnt see a "paging Iceberg" post

Would you like me to "page you" ICE ? :D:D:D
You got players back this week, that was newsworthy, they would have won with or without them anyways ...

btw, how do you know your being paged, till you SEE the post ? :D

Yeah I saw this over the weekend. The firing hasn't been confirmed publicly by the Browns front office yet, but it was made pretty obvious by team owner Randy Learner when he said last week he wasn't happy with the teams performance and Crennel's job status will be reviewed at the end of the year.

With that said, I expect no changes until after the season. Marty and Bill Cowher have been at the top of our list of replacements for a while now.

I'm telling you, hope you don't get Cowher.

Since the Browns return, we've tried the highly accomplished coordinators and college coaches as our Head Coach. The only thing we haven't tried is one with actual NFL head coaching experience. I think that's the route they want to go now and with that said, the list to chose from is limited.

Marty and Cowher can't win the big game. I know the Steelers won the Superbowl:):):), but lets face it, IMHO they won it for the Bus. Ben had a bad day, Randell El had the best pass of the day and the Steelers were lucky they played the Seahawks and not a good team.

Hell all the Steelers had to do was stop their RB, which 99% of the time they do. They didn't have a good WR or defense. If they played a good team, they probably would of lost.

Baby steps my friend. At this point, I think the Browns are just looking to be able to win consistently during the regular season. Once we get over that hurdle, then we can focus on winning the Super Bowl. Both Marty and Bill's teams have always had good regular season records.

You coming to Pittsburgh to watch the last game of the year?

I wouldnt be so sure....If the Vikes didnt have the Williams wall maybe the outcome would have been different

so true...... ;)

Your team is decent this year, but that horrid O-line will come back to haunt you in the playoffs. Mark my words.

I don't really think it's the O-line, IMO they are doing the best job they can, I think the problem is that for some stupid reason the O-Coordinator doesn't like to use a Full Back.

They use two tight ends, IMO that is why Ben gets sacked, no one in the back field to block, plus that is why they can't gain 1 or 2 yards to easily. No Full back to help block up the middle.

That is one thing I give Cowher credit for, using a full back in the running game, but it's more the Coordinator then the coach. They got rid of Dan Kreider, who IMO is one of the best Full Backs in the NFL, now they can't run.
