Just got off chat with tech support on $5 fee...

Enable DishComm. DishCOmm will "find" the other receiver and it's all set.

I'll keep that in mind, I'm off to dish website to try to find more information but is there any disadvantage to doing it this way because I can hook it up ethernet also. I just was going on what I told by the installers and Dish CSR that the ethernet port was not yet enabled in the 222.

Nope. Ethernet will work just as well

I've tried 2 different wireless phone jack things and neither one worked well enough to communicate when it dials up... it always fails.

These wireless phone jack's uses the A.C. wiring to communate with each other and most likely you may be on different legs of your house wiring and may need a phase coupler signal bridge, something like SignaLinc - INSTEON Phase Coupler, Hardwired - Smarthome

Plug-In Phase Coupler

Try getting a long phone cord and try to find and use a power outlet on the same power leg.

Hey Doogie;
I know you said you tried two different wireless jacks that didn't work. Make sure you are plugging them directly into a wall outlet and NOT a power strip. We use Easy Jack 2 wireless all the time for our installs, and if you try to plug them into a power strip, they do not work. I'm not sure about your situation, but I thought this might be your problem.

I want to ditch my land line and I don't have DSL. Has anyone disconnected their phone line and avoided the $5 charge yet. Do I need to call DISH to get it approved or can I just disconnect it?
